This system looks interesting.

What's the gamepad supposed to be used for?

I probably skipped over that segment while I was skimming the event video.

The only reason why I bought a wii was to play ssbb.

If a new ssbb comes out on this wii u, I will consider buying this console.

Who the in the hell wants to play on that little gamepad screen?

Gamestop is already SOLD OUT Nationwide of the deluxe bundle. Basic bundles are dwindling.

It appears Bestbuy is sold out also... Page has been crashing since last night.

"and another one"

Reading comments from game sites across the net and I must say, of all the fanboys, Nintendo stans are the most insecure.

This was a flop at E3 and will continue to be a flop in my eyes. The only thing they've done well is release it during holiday season so that parents that don't know any better will be swindled into purchasing it for their kids.

and then nintendo fan boys will cite better sales as to why the system is better. The Wii and WiiU got a head start, but will still pale in comparison to the other systems, for the mere fact that I havent seen 1 game that blows me away

Trashmatic.
The first next generation console to market and it still has last generation graphics....
You can't even play multiplayer games with the new tablet controller yet and thats supposed to be the biggest new feature.
The Wii TVii looks dope but with the developed TV platform that Xbox already has, I'm sure their next generation TV offering with project glass is gonna be even better.
Pass.

You do know that video games are about more than just graphics and all that tv crap they do now right?

If this console performs well and has titles to back it up, all that gimmick crap doesn't mean a thing

Rayman Legends
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2
Assassin’s Creed III
ZombiU
Mass Effect 3: Special Edition
Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition
TEKKEN TAG TOURNAMENT 2
Scribblenauts Unlimited
Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two
Rabbids Land
Just Dance 4
Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed
MADDEN NFL 13
NBA 2K13
TRANSFORMERS PRIME
Your Shape Fitness Evolved 2013
Game Party Champions
ESPN Sports Connection
Darksiders II
Nintendo Land
New Super Mario Bros. U

Launch day titles, pretty strong line-up even though some games are already on other systems. I'll probably end up scooping up Mario and either Zombie U or Black Ops.

transformers prime?

its probably based off of that crappy kids show on HUB by the same name

graphics do matter when it comes to selling games that are on multi-platform. Take last gen for example. COD and Madden look much better on the PS3 and 360. Why would I shell out money for a wiiu when I can play the same graphic quality games on this gen. Then it comes down to how desirable are the wiiu exclusives. Is zombieU really a systems seller? How long will people have to wait until zelda comes out?

Unity CEO David Helgason has revealed that his company, whose light-weight engine is becoming increasingly popular in both the mobile and PC gaming worlds, has been licensed by Nintendo for use with the upcoming Wii U.

The engine is being optimised for Nintendo's latest console, and while it's become surprisingly powerful in recent times (see above), you'd expect it's got more to do with downloadable titles than with frontline development. It'll also be useful in convincing developers of existing games and properties using Unity to also bring their games to the Wii U. Importantly, Nintendo has licensed the engine for use both with third-party developers and with Nintendo's own studios.

While it's no CryEngine 3, the fact a company like Nintendo is making such a deal at all shows the Japanese giant is becoming a little more savvy when it comes to embracing the modern development scene.

Video is what the engine is capable of.

I was reading about that yesterday, if that's the engine they're using for downloadable games on the Wii U then I can't wait to see what some 1st party games are gonna look like in the coming years like Zelda,3D Mario, and Star fox.

Somebody asked about info on the Nintendo TVii, if you have time to watch the videos below they should give you a better understanding of the service.

Played around with it at gamestop for 10 mins it was pretty planning to get one now.

As we get closer to the launch more details are starting to be shown.
This is a video of how the Wii U will look when you power it up,the whole social aspect of it, and the video chat.

This is the uboxing of the premium set.
America will get NintendoLand while i'm assuming Japan is getting Dragon Quest from what is shown on the vid.

According to HTML5test.com the Wii U browser is the highest rated online browser for a game system (even though they don't show PS3 for whatever reason).

And like the post above said, Gamestops (and other major stores) have Wii U kiosks set up.
If you want to find one near you go to Nintendo's website.

Played it at bestbuy for like 5 mins....played rayman...its was like an ok novelty. I enjoyed it....might pick one up when the price drops as a party console. Used to get a lot of use out of drunk wii sports and tiger woods golf while pre gaming in college.

i cant wait to whoop my kids in that new super mario wii u game
and i cant wait till they drop a new smash bros and mario kart game

Graphics hardly matter when you're Nintendo.

Whens the last time Nintendo had cutting edge, above the standard, game changing graphics that set them ahead of the competition?
The N64?

But how many Wii's, Nintendo DS/3DS', Gameboy Advances have they shoved down everyones throats to still dominate the gaming industry sales wise for hardware?

Nintendo has the titles to sell their systems. You say Zombie U isn't a system seller...

But back when the Wii dropped, would you have predicted people to buy a Wii JUST for Wii Sports?

Parents are buying these systems, not grown men for FPS and Sports titles. And there are a lot more Parents standing out in line at Wal Mart, Gamestop, and everywhere else Christmas time for these in comparison to us. Trust.

I was gonna buy this day 1, but I'll hold off knowing someone will drop 40 at Old Navy.

Wait so is this a handheld/controller unit?...as in it can be taken with you to work?...my wife LOVES the old school super Mario, so she would love super Mario WiiU....I just don't need another home system, as we have a Wii already, but if she can take this with her, I might be picking it up for her bday...
