Waiting for the Wii U to price drop.

Copping a new 3ds when Pokemon X & Y drop.

Excited for Mario & Luigi :Dream Team

I doubt Nintendo is gonna be dropping the price anytime soon based on what Iwata said, I did read that they're gonna be adding NintendoLand to the basic version though.
In Nintendo's eyes, once they "revitalize" the Wii U starting this Summer the price is gonna be fair since they are gonna be constantly be releasing "key" games throughout the year.

Haven't posted it but a couple of days ago Nintendo said that they won't be hosting a press event @ E3.

While I always looked forward to seeing Nintendo's press events and am disappointed from a traditional perspective I'm looking forward to see how this turns out.
Even though it might be seen by less people, Nintendo Direct has been a better platform for getting news out instead of E3 imo, so with them holding multiple Directs throughout E3 I don't mind as much that they wont be holding a huge event on T.V.

June needs to come faster, I wanna see Smash Bros. & Retro's project.

Like you, I was a little disappointed when I heard they weren't going to have a traditional conference, but after a little thought I think it could be a good thing. Nintendo seems to always be trailblazers in the industry and this is exactly what fans should expect from this company. This announcement has already created more buzz for Nintendo because people are now excited to see what Nintendo has up their sleeve.

In years past the biggest complaint about the E3 press conferences was that they were too long and included info that most gamers considered irrelevant. Nintendo seems to be going for a direct approach which is giving gamers more of what they want while cutting out the excess fat. This focused approach might become the norm as E3 becomes less relevant as media outlets evolve.

For those in the Nintendo 3DS Ambassador program. Have they ever revealed when they will release said games onto the Nintendo E-Shop for the rest of the public to purchase?

All of the NES games aside from Balloon Fight are available in the Eshop, I do remember reading that Nintendo has no intentions of making the GBA titles available to the public, however with GBA titles soon coming to the Wii U VC I see them going back on that statement.
I find it dumb that they announce GBA titles coming to Wii U before they announce them coming to the 3DS.

Not really a huge fan of COD games, but this has been all but confirmed for the Wii U

Looks like 3rd party support is really picking up. With an installed based greater than the upcoming PS4/NextBox I believe this version will likely get more support and all of the DLC unlike Black Ops 2.

Yeah, I saw that on another site, the only thing that is missing is the Nintendo Network logo. Might just be a placeholder.

I really do hope that with Iwata being promoted to CEO of Nintendo of America it will help with 3rd party partnership, they already have the blockbuster 1st party and the Indy scene seems to be on board with Nintendo.

They're getting there with all the support Ubisoft is giving them, I just hope they can get other 3rd party companies on board.

Is there a list of upcoming Wii U VC titles yet?

  • Donkey Kong Jr
  • Ice Climber
  • Excitebike
  • Super Mario World
  • Balloon Fight
  • F-Zero
  • Punch Out
  • Kirby’s Adventure

It's pretty bare bones thus far, but they will continue to add games throughout the year. They will also add N64 and GameCube games in future updates. If you already have some of these games downloaded from your Wii, you can download the Wii U version which will add off screen play for a discounted price.

you guys who own Wii Us, how is it thus far?

The Wii U is great so far. Its the best Nintendo system since the N64 IMO. The gamepad is great and the internet really fast. It easily replaces a laptop as a go to for internet needs when laying around the house. You can use it to control your games on and off of your TV and use it as a TV remote. It's kinda hard to describe unless you own one. It does so much and is really convenient. You can also use the more traditional Pro Controller for FPS's and fighters. Not to mention in plays all of your old Wii games and supports those controllers too.

Games are pretty good so far. Monster Hunter Ultimate, Need For Speed Most Wanted, and Injustice: God's Among Us just dropped.

Here is a list of Wii U Gameshttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Wii_U_games

If you have any more questions let me know.

Spiritual Successor to Eternal Darkness: Shadow of the Eternals

700

The spiritual successor to Eternal Darkness, an episodic project lead by Denis Dyack, has be announced today.

Called Shadow of the Eternals, the game has been put together by the creators of Eternal Darkness and lead by Dyack. Shadow of the Eternals is being pitched as an episodic adventure starring multiple characters and in development for Nintendo Wii U and PC.

Precursor Games, a new studio form off the back of Silicon Knights, is crafting the new games and it's said to bring back the familiar mechanics from Eternal Darkness - according to Nintendo World Report.

The project will also aim to be crowdfunded, however not on Kickstarter, with the campaign launching on Monday 6th May. Those who chip in will receive access to development forums, have chances to interact with the team and much more.

The story is also said to follow detective Paul Becker as he sets out to investigate a Lousiana massacre. During the investigation Becker learns of a group called "Eternals" and the game will follow various different characters across 2,500 years of history.

Well dam,but if they do put out quality titles then I'll have no problem shelling out to cop.

We need Smash Bros.

With Nintendo releasing Mario in October, they're looking to do what they did with the 3DS, release Mario 3D first and then Mario Kart for the Holidays to drive major sales.

I'm guessing we'll see a first party game from them every month starting after E3, this is what my list looks like

June - Game & Wario
July - Wonderful 101, Wii Fit U
August - Pikmin 3
September - Bayonetta 2
October - 3D Mario
November - Windwaker HD
December - Mario Kart

As far as the Virtual Console goes, I am disappointed in how the releases are being handled, I know that Nintendo is not doing what Sony did and use one emulator to dump all their classics on, they're re-building them one at a time from what I hear but they should have had a dedicated team working on solely VC games (if they don't already) to make sure they come out quicker. I'm not a fan of the drip releases.
Seems like we'll be getting 1 or 2 titles a week since MegaMan & Pac-Man came out yesterday on the VC. Other than that, the feature is awesome. I love playing Super Mario World on the gamepad while i'm watching something on the T.V.

I love my Wii U, I play it every day. I know people like to say that there are no games for the system, but to me that's blasphemy. There are a ton of retail games and Eshop games to play. Like Spottie said, the gamepad is super convenient when it comes to gaming and non gaming. It has the best browser of any system and MiiVerse it pretty awesome, you can interact with game developers directly to give them input on games and hear about updates.

New Nintendo Direct coming tomorrow morning @ 10 AM EST that will focus on upcoming Spring & Summer Wii U releases and some 3DA news.
More than likely it will be a Wonderful 101 release date and more details on Pikmin 3 and Game & Wario.

I'd like an all-black or all-white release of the 3DS XL in the U.S. already.

I'd like an all-black or all-white release of the 3DS XL in the U.S. already.

I have a feeling that they might be announcing new colors today, none of the other Directs (Europe, Japan) are going to be talking about 3DS so maybe they'll release those. One of the main reasons I haven't upgraded to the XL is because I have hope that they'll release a black or white version.

Nintendo revealed that it will be joining SEGA in a worldwide partnership for the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, and the next installment of Sonic will be exclusive to Wii U & 3DS.

These are the highlights of the Direct.

Wii U News

Different events might use the Wii Remote Plus controller, Wii U GamePad controller or both. In addition to realistic events, the game also includes those set in the worlds of Sonic and Mario that let players perform moves not possible in real life. Launch details and timing will be announced at a later date.

Experience Games from Nintendo’s E3 Booth at Best Buy: Exclusively at participating Best Buy locations in the United States and Canada, consumers will be able to play some of the unreleased Wii U games featured at E3 while the event is occurring in Los Angeles. Details about locations and which games will be featured will be revealed in the coming weeks

New Super Luigi U: The Year of Luigi-themed downloadable content for New Super Mario Bros. U offers players 82 updated courses. But it also includes a new playable character in multiplayer mode: Nabbit, who steals items from Toad Houses. Nabbit can’t power up, but also won’t take damage when he touches enemies. New Super Luigi U will be released as downloadable content for New Super Mario Bros. U in the Nintendo eShop on June 20 for $19.99. But in honor of the Year of Luigi, Nintendo is also offering a standalone packaged version of New Super Luigi U that doesn’t require New Super Mario Bros. U on Aug. 25 at a suggested retail price of $29.99.

The Wonderful 101: The mass-action adventure from Platinum Games launches Sept. 15. Additional details will be announced after E3.

Pikmin 3: New playable characters Alph, Brittany and Charlie recruit the Pikmin creatures to help them gather fruit so that they can return with the seeds to save their home, Planet Koppai. Players can divide activities among the different characters, and explore separate areas in the same map with different groups of Pikmin. Using the GamePad (known as the KopPad in the game), players can view the overall map and grasp what each character and Pikmin are up to. Players also can choose their preferred control option: GamePad in conjunction with the TV, Wii Remote Plus and Nunchuk combo or GamePad only in off-TV mode. Players can also use the Wii Remote Plus and Nunchuk with the GamePad as a second-screen monitor. Pikmin 3 launches Aug. 4.

GAME & WARIO: The game launches in stores and in the Nintendo eShop June 23 at a suggested retail price of $39.99, and includes a number of games from WarioWare, Inc., that use the GamePad in different ways. Newly revealed games include: Island, which lets two to five people launch little creatures called Fronks onto islands in the sea to score points; Patchwork, a puzzle game that tests players’ pattern-recognition skills; and Kung-Fu, which challenges players to help Young Cricket navigate a course safely using the forward-looking view on the TV and the top-down view on the GamePad. A new Iwata Asks feature offers more details about the game at http://iwataasks.nintendo.com.

Resident Evil Revelastion: Capcom’s horror-survival game is launching in stores and in the Nintendo eShop on May 21. The game originally released for Nintendo 3DS, and the Wii U version offers players updated HD graphics, GamePad controls and new game content. Players can use the GamePad to view the map and change items using the touch screen without pausing their progress. Or they can play the full game on the GamePad in off-TV mode, or play with the Wii U Pro Controller. The game is Miiverse-compatible, and a demo version is currently available in the Nintendo eShop.

Inside the Treehouse with Animal Crossing: New Leaf: Because of the vast amount of content in the upcoming Animal Crossing: New Leaf game, Nintendo’s Treehouse localization team is hosting an ongoing video series to talk about the franchise and many of the fun features of the new game. The videos will be available on Nintendo’s YouTube channel and in the Nintendo eShop on a regular basis leading up to the game’s June 9 launch. Additionally, a new Animal Crossing panel for Puzzle Swap is now available for StreetPass Mii Plaza, and fans also might find a special Animal Crossing-themed message on Swapnote.

Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D: This game launches in stores and in the Nintendo eShop on May 24 and includes all the fun of the original Wii game, now optimized for portable play. It also includes eight new unlockable levels that are each based on one of the eight worlds from the original game. These levels will challenge players with new elements like platforms that force them to move at a faster pace, large drops of tar falling from the ceiling and giant rotating stone gears that can alter the level itself.

A Legendary Sale: The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons arrive on the Virtual Console service for Nintendo 3DS on May 30. Because playing the games together unlocks so much additional content, Nintendo is offering them for just $4.99 each for the first three weeks after launch. After this promotion expires, the games will be available for $5.99 each.

Mario and Donkey Kong: Minis on the Move: The game, which launched May 9 exclusively in the Nintendo eShop, challenges players to place tiles on the bottom screen to guide the Minis to their goal on the top screen. The game includes more than 180 stages, but also dramatically extends the fun of the game by letting players create their own stages and share them with others. Players can opt to try a random user-created level or one created by their friends. They can also select from the most popular levels overall or search the top levels of the week.

This is a huge announcement for Nintendo. Who woulda thought 20 years a go this would be possible. A Sonic game exclusive to a Nintendo console...

I'm very excited about all the new games that are coming out and there is a lot left that is still not being shown. Add in the fact that Nintendo is going to have their E3 games playable at Best Buy is gonna change the game. This year's E3 will be EPIC!
