NikeTalk recommend me a first car

Look at cars that are around 12k and learn how to haggle. With this economy you can do that. If you're a bimmer man, then look into a nice E36 328i w/ 5speed manual (learn to drive stick), that should run you about 8k, and then set aside 2k for preventive maintenance and then some. If it's a Honda youwant, look into an '04 Accord EX-L 5 speed.

10K is a lot to work with like other's said you can get something very nice with how the economy is right now.

wow where do you guys live? TL's and 325's and IS' for 10k? And whats your reasoning for not liking toyotas? the brand name? how old are you? 16and just got your permit? If youre looking for something that "lasts long and inexpensive" i highly doubt you should be looking at bmws.......

Two pages and no one mentioned the transmission problems those Accords have? Yea...don't get one of those. I believe its 98-02 that have the transmissionproblems.

People on NT live in imaginary life. No way anyone should be driving a BMW for their first car especially a 10k BMW.

If I'm not mistaking it's the 98-02 coupes with the transmission problems which is why I am getting a sedan

yea, i have an 02 accord coupe v6 and i can tell you that the transmission is acting up right now in this cold weather. The automatic transmission in the 98-02accord are known shifting late or erratically when its cold out cold due to faulty linear (pressure control) solenoid.

You can buy a BMW but are you going to be able to pay for maintenance? Thats the big problem with those kind of cars. I've seen too many people get benzesand beemers and can't afford to fix them when they have a problem.

Somebody said to get a WRX.....can you afford the insurance on that car since its considered a sprts car? These are things you have to think about bro. Ofcourse Im saying this because I think you're young tho. But if you got the money(or your mommy and daddy) go for it man.

Accords and TL's are good cars. You can pick one up for around $10k with like 75k + miles on it.

You also have the option of an Altima or Maxima also. So its all personal preference. What one NTer might like you might not.

It's not a particular car, it's an engine paired up with transmission.

Be suspect of any Honda V6 engine paired to a 5 and sometimes 4spd. automatic transmission from '98-'03 (sometimes '04), jonts are rowdy.

Depends on a lot of things....

What's your budget?
How will the car be used? Beater? A-to-B? Strictly a work car?

If you're looking at an '01-'02 Accord, my guess is that your budget is around 5-6k? If you're looking for reliable, go for the Accord. My momdrove her '98 Accord until last year. Zero problems at 122k and good gas mileage, sold the car for $3,500. Make the smart decision.

ince your a lexus man.

Not a bad suggestion, but gas mileage sucks and there have been issues with the ******.

i have a coupe, but the problem exists in many 98-02 accords (coupe and sedan)
