I have this same issue....I opted to just embrace my normal size, which sounds like would be the 8 for you. I do struggle wearing without socks, especially in the TX heat, because they get noisy if you start to sweat lol. Those who have gotten the clogs in different sizes, how did you size and which size do you prefer?
I ask because i have the grinch pair in my true size, mens 8, but also have the dusty cactus one size up, mens 9.
For me, going true to size fits a little too perfect, if that makes sense. Imo its a true 1-to-1 fit with my foot. Hugs it nicely. However my gripe is going tts is that my toe is hitting the tip of the shoe which im not too fond of. Also sliding them on is not an easy task. I do have to put a finger behind my heel to get them on without hassle.
Although going up a size removes the need for using a finger behind my heel, making it easier to slip on. And the space around my foot does feel more comfortable. BUT my gripe is that the shoe does fit slightly big, especially behind the heel. And they look a little big on me.
If i had to choose between tts or 1 size up, id stick tts. The trade offs are there. If only they did half sizing.
But those who have gone tts and sized up, which do you prefer?

For all this you said here, is the reason why I returned mine. I’m in between sizes and bought both 8 and 9. Although 8 was a nice fit, it was kinda snug, toes hit the front, and was rubbing the top of my foot. 9 however, was too loose and didn’t like the all-around gaps throughout, though it was nice for my wide flat feet. Those who have gotten the clogs in different sizes, how did you size and which size do you prefer?

I wore my sized up pair all day on Sunday and to the gym today. Honestly, the width is ideal for me. Doesn't feel like my foot is being squeezed on the sides which i feel gives it more of a recovery shoe feel. Its just the length that bothers me. Even though I said they look big on me, I think i was just overthinking it. At the gym today, Id snag a quick glance at the shoes in the mirror and they don't look big at all. But I think id still rather have my true size than sizing up 1For all this you said here, is the reason why I returned mine. I’m in between sizes and bought both 8 and 9. If you test that out, let me know how it goes. I'm not about to risk ruining a pair of mineit’s all rubber
you can shrink or stretch em

Yeah I'm in between 8 and 9 too but I feel like the forgiveness of the size 9 is worth the little bit of gaps (and the squeaks from the gaps). Really wish they made half sizes.I wore my sized up pair all day on Sunday and to the gym today. Honestly, the width is ideal for me.
