Evolutions are all that’s use at the middle school and high school level here. I have no issues with them.

Yep I know how you feel.Had to reluctantly buy an another EVO last year because I wanted to get more reps in using the basketball that 90% of the population prefers to use.

Have you seen the prices now? CRAZY. It's $100 for an Evo now. When I looked into why, it was the tariffs. Insanity.

Our district tried to not send us our dozen Evo’s we get every season before the season starts. We had to dip into our athletic funds for them and the price was steep.Have you seen the prices now? CRAZY. It's $100 for an Evo now. When I looked into why, it was the tariffs. Insanity.

Smh…Have you seen the prices now? CRAZY. It's $100 for an Evo now. When I looked into why, it was the tariffs. Insanity.
It's not the tariffs, it's company greed. AI summarizing reddit of all places
Even at 100% tariffs per item, the company only pays on the total landed cost in America not the retail price, which would be an additional $10 max if the chart below (Google AI) is accurate. That doesn't even come close to explaining the $45 price hike.
The price hike also doesn't explain why prices skyrocketed in Canada which do not have the same tariffs as the US. So ya.. 95% company greed, 5% tariffs.

IIRC
The newer TF’s or the old ones? I want to say they stopped making the originals back around 2010… the new ones are garbage, but the originals were nearly flawless basketballs.Nah I’d take a well broken in Evo over that. Our district sent us those one year and they were terrible to break in. Even once broken in they weren’t that great.
I liked these as well but they had to be all the way inflated. When they were, they were really nice. They were firm but still light enough to feel good to play with. I do like the softness of Evos but there's definitely something nice about the old (9, 10 years ago) TF 1000sSmh…
Haven’t really checked recently, but I remember they were around $60 or so back when I first started checking for them. I ended up saving about $15–20 and bought my first Baiden Rock instead. Pretty sure I got my current EVO from Hibbett’s … think it was around $80 at the time, but it qualified for one of their usual promos, so I was able to get it under retail.
EVO’s are basically the standard pickup run ball, so I’m pretty neutral on them overall. I’m not a huge fan of the spongy feel, they don’t handle even a little sweat very well, and they seem a bit heavier than I’d like. I also feel like the quality can be inconsistent. You can have five different guys warming up with five different EVO’s, and when it’s time to pick the game ball, none of them really feel the same. And I’m not just talking about air pressure or whether they’re new or broken in either. Every now and then some high school kids will bring their EVO NXT’s and we’ll use that… definitely lighter, better at handling sweat (improved, still not great), but you still know that you’re playing with an EVO.
Any how, if we’re talking about basketballs this one here (OG, not the new crap they brought back) is GOATed.

Still hoping one that Spalding will come to their senses, fix the formula and give the people what they want.
Started coaching in our district back in ‘14. They have been bad since then. The newer TF’s or the old ones? I want to say they stopped making the originals back around 2010… the new ones are garbage, but the originals were nearly flawless basketballs.
I'd love to know the real reason then. Something made the prices go up drastically. From $60 to $100. Was there a materials shortage? I mean an increase like that and you can't just chalk it up to like Wilson being greedy or just increased demand or something. What is causing it, do you think?
