Nike Kyrie Infinity

Need to see better pics, but so far I feel the same way about these that I do every other Kyrie sig.

Cushioning looks promising, but not interested in these enough to pay anything remotely close to retail.

There's keeping a DNA signature running through a line, but this is turning into straight inbreeding.

I'll take it!

But I have to admit, I come from the mindset of if it's working, you don't need to redo everything. So l absolutely hate when gui designers think they need to move every. single. *******. thing. around when they come out with a new iteration of their software. Like you had the controls all on the left? Lets move em all to the right. You used to right clicking and doing a, b, and c? Lets take all those options away and put them someplace else, just for giggles. No.

The Kyrie 6s are some of the most balled in shoes of the last couple of years. For all positions. Centers wear em, guards wear em, wings wear em. And it aint just the price point cause you can't say that about the PGs and the Freak 2s and those are at a fraction of the usage of these. Like pick a day where there were 6+ games on the NBA schedule and I bet at least one person is wearing them in all 6 games.

So I don't need them to remake the wheel. Don't need them to try to come up with an eclipse plate or battleknit mess. And they pretty much just tightened up the shoe and took off the strap, so that's music to my ears because while I do play in the 6s from time to time, I hate straps on shoes.

So yeah, I'm prolly in on these, especially if they're as good of a performer as the Kyrie 6s. 7s went the narrow route and that sucked, but these look good to me for wider footers. But to each his own. Still wondering if the KD/Kyrie mix shoe is gonna show, or if Ky will do or say some dumb **** that messes those up lol

I'm still probably in as the line continues to perform. If it's forefoot strobel I'll be happy. The lack of innovation won't keep me off unless it's a dud on the court like the Harden 5. It will however have an effect on whether I shoot for a pre-heat at retail or wait for a gr on discount.

Personally I like the KD line's level of progression. Keep it moving every 2-3 years. 9-10 similar, 11 was a dud, 12-13 similar, I'm betting the 15 will be close to the 14.

One thing I do hate, why the comically large tongue? It's like there's always one thing.

The 6:

I'm sure it's partly to dull the "Corporate wants you to find the difference....it's the same picture" critique, but damnit just make a normal tongue. Did that stupid mess with the 35s and the Lebron 18s.

The thing about Nike's current offerings is there's now a big 5 instead of three, with all of them having takedown model lines except PG. That's about 10-15 shoe varieties tied to sigs across the catalogue, which doesn't leave space to offer non-signature models, and the ones that are still there (excluding the GT line) are IMO more trash than the non-sig offerings from the early 2010s. Models like the Precision and Fly by are so squeezed by their budget that they can't even put Zoom bags in them. Back in early 2010s the shoes like the HyperRev, Hyperquickness, etc were beasts that were up there with the Hyperdunk.

Pretty much the 6 without the strap. Not really a bag thing but really lazy. Wish they make the 6 with full zoom, no plastic on the back and a knit upper. Would be perfect

These are probably gonna be the same story since the 5’s. I’ll be interested in just seeing the launch colorway and the Concepts pair

The designers probably have some wild ideas that get reigned in by corporate. Nike isn't as fun and innovative with their basketball shoes anymore.

But we get these:

I think it’s a mixture of that and the amount they invest in just having a players name on the shoe. For starters, they know it’ll sell based on that alone. On top of that, it’s eaten away on their budget. Just my idea 🤷🏽‍♂️

Nah I was saying Nike likely gives the kibosh to a lot of wild basketball designs, but will happily put out that experimental nonsense.
