Had to vent lmfaoHow did a Friends themed shoe turn into racism and millenials?![]()
Directors or movie companies like Disney being like oh we have to have certain characters be a different race these days to make everyone happy is getting ridiculous, for me I used to collect comics and as such I want movies be as close to the source material as they can get now everyone is gonna call me racist but it has nothing to do with race just want it right, Look what happened with the Simpsons writting Apu out of the show wtf is that over sensitized world these days
If u feel plantar flaring up then stay away from the kyrie line and get something with better heel absorption something with better impact protection in generalThis is REALLY the wrong thread for this but just to address what you said really quickly---
The "source material" you speak of is arbitrarily white.
To argue that a comic book hero or any other fictional character should be white by default is complete nonsense! It's a FAKE character spawned from someone's imagination. That character's accurate portrayal does not depend upon the color of his skin!!!
Not going to call you racist. You need to realize that what you're saying is basically "The characters were originally white (FOR NO REAL REASON/PURPOSE other than the fact that the people that created them were white) let's keep it white."
There's nothing "ridiculous" about changing the race of MADE UP characters in the spirit of inclusion. If that's an affront to your sensibilities then maybe that's why you're anticipating people calling you a racist for the comment you just made. Marinate on that for a while.
The Simpsons Apu thing was BLATANTLY racist and regressive and damaging and in no way was that a reaction to "oversensitivity".
The whole character was just wrong and created out of pure ignorance.
Back on topic:
Another thing about the 5's that I can't accept is the lack of torsion support. You can fold those things in half with your hands with no resistance. I could feel the plantar fasciitis flaring up after just trying them on and walking in the store.

Side note: Do you guys think basketball grip spay would help with the Kyrie's? I see a bottle on Amazon and thinking of giving it a try.
Its a comic thing lol agree to disagree is what it is lol im not gonna get sensitive hahaUh yeah... I've paired my rotation down to mostly adidas hoop shoes these days which for the most part have rigid torsion support.
Hopefully the more important aspect of my previous post is not completely lost on you though, Mr. Source material![]()

They don't. They only have a wet towelIt might eat away at your outsoles, maybe see if your league has a sticky mat, the thing nba players step on at the scorers table

I had plantar in the kobe 11s and suspected it was the drop in midsole. I stopped playing in them and it went away thankfully
Thanks for the insight. I had to deal with this and I prefer not to deal with it again.
i Think what my mans is trying to say is ...he said what he said, and doesn’t want to go back and forth about if it’s racist to not want comic book characters races changed or not..and to try to talk about the kyrie 5, in the kyrie 5 thread...

I come to NT to shoot the **** about sneakers, laugh at some memes and gifs, and occasionally pitch in my two cents.
Kinfolk you seem quite intelligent and while I may not agree with everything you say, you bring up valid points and always articulate and defend your position.
That said, you seem to go from 0-100 really fast. You don't have to fight every battle. You probably don't care what I think, but it's coming from a good place in a constructive manner.
This was over a long time ago so be done with it like i was after we had our back and forth but I stand by what I said and not like having characters races changed its my opinion and thats all an opinion if some people take it as racism shame on you and grow upI hear you.
It’s just the way I read a lot of replies here... people’s tone comes off as reckless, half hazard and super snarky and condescending. So I reply in the same vein.
Do I go overboard sometimes? For sure.
I let a lot of stuff slide though, fighting every battle on here would be a full time job.
As for uncle jay’s comment- it was unnecessary.
I read it as a co-sign of some BS that the other dude said propping up and supporting Apu on the Simpsons which is like, not even a debate, am I right? Like he literally downplayed the longest running examples of racism on TV like it was not a big deal and people overreact to it. All reaction in opposition to the Apu character is appropriate and fully warranted...
I don’t even know how it came up in the Kyrie thread but I saw it and felt like I had to addrsss it.
I appreciate you though. All love.

Still going eh lolThe funny thing about it is that you are literally the only one calling the changing of FICTIONAL CHARACTER’S race “racism”.
You could have pled the 5th but instead you told on yourself by thinking that you were 2 steps ahead ahead by throwing out the dreaded r-word before anyone else could get to it... do better.
