Nike Book 2

True but in my personal opinion this is exactly what been wrong with basketball shoes in general.

You aren’t connecting fans with players by releasing a color they never technically wore.

This has probably been the best All star collection in a while and the ones the players only one city got.

imagine if that happened with the galaxy pack or even the gumbo joints.

Side note they definitely released hoop shoes with disclaimers before.
Dude it is a limited pack for the All-Star game

The players wore them...in the All Star game

This isn't like it is a GR that they are telling the public not to play in them, and players never wear.

I don't think it is a big deal

Is obtaining these shoes going to change your life in some way? If you want a pair jump on Stock X. Only a few of them are way over retail. There are tons of Kobes that released he never wore. You are making this way deeper than it is. Remember the days of House of Hoops when only NY and LA had a store....what about those days? Oh wait social media wasn't crazy like it is now. So it wasn't thrown in your face like today.

At the end of the day it sounds like you're putting way to much value in these SHOES

lol wut?

No it’s the fact that it’s an all star pack that no one outside of that area had a chance at, at all. All star packs were something that ppl clamored and couldn’t wait for. Now they’re simply unattainable.

I said they are shoes...get over it...you act as though there have never been regional specific releases...is this the first time?

And then they stopped doing them because they started to sit....they used to make packs for multiple times of the year including an Easter pack...no one wanted them so they stopped making them...they brought them back with hype so people would want them...that was the purpose

Ehhh, yes and no. Market is just different now and so are the expectations. But I get what you mean. If these were a massive GR they wouldn’t sell out. I’d put money on that. That said, nothing really sells out like they used to

So homeboy says get over it they're just shoes.......because he happened to be there and got his pair? *****

I wanted the Kobe 3... Didn't get them...didn't rant about t....it is what it is...also not mm fault I live in LA

Is there a consensus on sizing for these? Tried on the Spiridon pair in both a 10.5 (true) an 11 (half-up) and not set on one over the other. 10.5 felt a bit snug but the underfoot felt better, while 11 was more cozy but also a bit wonky with space behind my feet.

I also live near LA about a hour drive.

Just think it’s counter productive to say all things aren’t selling like they used to so let’s make this stupid limited but then have the same damn shoe sit. :lol

You can say the same thing for damn near every single GR of every shoe that ever existed. The limited ones always catch the hype and the mass production ones don't. Tale as old as time. You had people getting into fights in LA for Wolf Grey 5s. Think about how many Kobe 4s and 5s sat back in the day. They drop limited Rice, USC, 4 rings, 5 rings, and any other limited drop and people get upset. All brands to this to creat hype...at least ones that can survive the ups and downs. It's not going to change. And let's face it...the all star game was in LA...that adds to the hype. You think they will do the same in Arizona next year?

It’s one thing to be limited. It’s another when you eliminate 99% of the general public from a release and turn the shoe into a resale release. Again, this isn’t that deep and not that hard to understand.

Yes………But that’s what Nike does 😂

99 percent of the general public...the point is they didn't want the general public to be able to have these. That's the point you're missing. You're acting as though they are required to make enough for everyone. The entire point of this drop was to create hype. You're right it's not that deep....which I already said...and the fact that it was done on purpose.... regardless of whether you agree with it or not...is what's so hard for YOU to understand.

Prime example are the Undefeated 4s. Ridiculously limited...right...then a much wider release...then people calling them trash and prices settled within a nice range for all those that want them.

They can't please everyone....nor do they owe the public anything... realistically they don't

I know why they did it. I’m not new to this. Like at all. There’s plenty of ppl who have taken issue with how they’ve gone about treating All Star weekend/releases.

lol wut? No one thought the undefeated 4s last year were trash. Especially since they were much easier to obtain. Shoe was almost getting the consensus shoe of the year label

But 99 percent of the public didn't care about them..right? That's where your statement about making the all stars attainable to the general public kills what Nike was trying to do with the shoe...create scarcity and limited availability.
