I don't understand why the purple in the back isn't eggplant like on the sole. That pic doesn't display the differences in purple on the sneakers. There's 3 different color purples. If it wasn't for that I would consider getting them, but these are wack like the varsity reds to me. Plus the black suede at the top looks sort of bad and cheap.

Saw the red joints yesterday and the contrasting shades of red were absolutely disgusting... I can't imagine these being any different.

great shoe but the eggplant isnt complmenting these, i think its the white leather that makes them too bright for IMO - ill stick with the original black/charcoal and blue cw..i would like to see some blk/charcoal joints with a blue foamposite side panel, i remember seeing a picture online of someone doing a custom job and mashing the two shoes together but i cant find a pic of them for the life of me. they were dope cause they were black and gray but the foamposite side was that bright blue

^^^Not really. Eggplant was originally just used on the Flightposite one, so it's more flightposite/foamposite related. If you remember, they first tried to push the eggplant flightposite 1's on Kobe, not Penny. It just looks good on the Foam 1's, so it made sense to do it, but I do think they're ODing with it a little bit. I do like the eggplant Penny III's, but I think it's just overkill at this point.
