I'm not an expert but I've never seen anyone in France with an AM+ cap, personnally got an AM95 one (in fact an AW84 grey or anthracite and neon or volt) ...
A lot of brands are now has been here like Kappa, Ellesse, Schott, Fila, Sergio Tacchini, even Reebok seems to have lose its rank here...Same thing for Puma...
The most is about Nike, Adidas because of the Stan Smith and the Superstar, Converse like for Adidas, always the same model or it's just my impression...
And Timberland is having a coming back...
According to me, here in France, near Paris I mean, there are about two different ways of dressing, I mean for the street wear, the old way, Lacoste tracksuit etc, and the new one, with hype stuffs.
The codes have explosed even if I crossed someone wearing Stan Smith, it would never been seen as ghetto, but everyone wear AM90...I never crossed someone with AM95 but AM+ here seems to be a vestige, I see people with it, but not like in the 2000's. Not all the people wearing this here, it's very connoted...
But except a few ones, people seems to follow the hype, so Lacoste tracksuits here are has-been.
Lacoste tracksuits and AM+ were the uniform of thugs, or some rappers.
Some rappers were wearing US clothes but other ones wear wearing Lacoste, Sergio Tacchini...
A french group of rap called Arsenik was always wearing Lacoste on the photos but they never have their support because during a long time, and I think it's still true today, Lacoste never wanted to be associated with the streets, even if the streets wore Lacoste.
Nike rules the game where I live for the streetwear.
When I watch people, what I do not do so much, I see 90% of the time Nike.
The rest is about Stan Smith, always the same color, how do I hate that...
When I see people about Nike, what is revealant is the diversity.
Even if you often see the same models, at least they change colors!
Adidas is great for their pants, Reebok has cool old tracksuits, but for having own 3 different pairs of Classic Leather, the only one I liked was owned about 2003, the two recents were pure garbage...No style and uncomfortable.
What I dislike about Adidas and Reebok is people are always wearing Stan Smith, Superstar, Pump, Classic Leather...Once again, just my impression.
With Nike there is so much choice...
I have never worn AM+ when it was the hype because I was too young so I can't buy what I liked and I don't even know if I was interessed in sneakers at the time...
Yes, I am talkative. Next time I'll be more concise. But when I saw "in France" I just wanted to bring a french point of view ^^
Songs are from 1998 and 1995 and you can see how they used to get dressed
where you from? ive learned that the style game concerning sneakers is way diff betwen the US and EU. jury still out on AU and other parts of the eastern world, but EU is all about them track suits and ish we used to rock back in the 90s. i think. @AIRMAXDISCIPLE can confirm.
In the second part of the nineties french rappers used to dress Lacoste tracksuits...TN tracksuits never really took off in the UK, i know in france etc atm its all about lacoste tracksuits, i rocked TN hats back in the early 2000's and there not really 'in' these days its more your gucci, armani that the kids are rocking these days or the retro nike cap and adidas caps.
