Nike Air Jordan 4 Retro "White/Cement" - The Aftermath - NO BUYING/SELLING/TRADING

@airdhazzal  so you are saying the loose netting are better than the even netting? just curious.

i think some stuff we can say are changed for the better and some should be kept original. the good for example midsole compound no longer crumbles (minus the crappy paint of course), the injection process of the outsole (as you guys should remember often one color would overlap other color on the outsole. i.e. you can see the clear red or clear sole on the XI and XII through the black pods or the IV above there the white nike logo would have some amount of blue leaked over), or misaligned midsole to the upper (which was infamous on the OG XII where the mud guard often never lined up at the heel. the bad are obviously the leather quality..as far as shape...i dunno, i never did like the wedge shape or the original.

personally i think the overall "quality control" is better. a long way has come from the China factories not meeting the standards of the Taiwan factories back in the days. The shape or the material changed, but one cannot deny the overall QC is pretty consistent even if crappy made shoes like the CDPs exist.

and what i mean by quality control is this pic below. I'm glad my buddy kept and send me this pic. This was my 2000 retro blk/red XI that i bought and sold it to him. The toe box on each foot is different! you can see the left shoe's looks more like the og and right shoe has the rounder toe box that kept its shape.

Y'all see how it correlates, and matches the plastic wing tips. They have the exact same look, pattern, and shape looks better too.

Its IRKS me so much that they butchered my favorite Jordan model this badly...

Sometimes, I wish I could personally meet that ******* Gentry Humphrey...

Repped to the fullest @airdhazzal, I didn't know about those samples...

That's just how I post ****, I center my posts on every forum I'm apart of...

I make my posts presentable, and not scattered all over the place.

If you're not goin' to rep me for some goofy *** excuse like that, **** it.

I think the OG netting looks cheap. Flame me if you want, but I'm looking the current netting... Just fix the angle and I'm good...

Yeah, this was a pretty common inconsistency on XI's from 95 all the way up to the 2006 DMPs.

My OG Columbias have very pointed toes like the left shoe you have pictured while my OG Concords were very bubbly. All of my 00/01 XIs have bubbly toes except my 01 Columbias. They're very pointy. 2/3 of my DMP XIs were perfect and bubbly at the toe, but one had a bubbly toe and a pointy toe.

This is one fix I'm happy JB implemented. I never cared if both shoes were pointy or bubbly, but those DMPs with one of each drove me nuts every time I looked at them :lol

I couldn't care less about "Quality Control" if the Materials, Shape & Everything Else is TRASH and not even close to the OG.

Quality Control at that point is just saying, "Well, Hey, atleast our TRASH Quality Shoes are CONSISTENTLY Trash with Every Pair you get."

Fact of the matter is, quality control was NEVER as consistent as today. Even For the ORIGINALS. For Example, some OG xiiis were nice and wide, others were completely narrow.

I have a theory that the old midsole PU crumbled over time b/c it was more porous.  The new compound (whatever it is) doesn't absorb moisture, nor dry out as badly from air penetration, however, with that comes the side effect of the paint not adhering as well.  i.e. It's more on the surface than actually dying the midsole, and they're still working on perfecting that.  You would think with today's technology this would have been solved a decade ago though....

It's still odd that some of my AM90s crack and peel after a few wears, while others are going strong after dozens of wears.  Different colors have different paint, or they're using different midsole material?  Either way, when it chips/cracks/peels, it completely ruins the shoes, which are usually otherwise flawless.  Nike will take returns on these, however, with the shoes I tend to buy, they can't be replaced....

Well if it's any assurance, I have worn my Columbia and Oreo 4's a BUNCH since I got them and there are 0 signs of cracking. Maybe they fixed the problem, or maybe I just got lucky.

Thanks for the note.  I've worn my Oreo's dozens of times and also see no signs of cracking, which is fantastic.  However, my Laser 4s show slight signs of cracking along the upper edge of the midsole, and I've only worn them a handful of times.  Why the difference between these shoes from the same generation....Things that make you go hmmm.....

Well, I guess there is no reason so sole swap a '99 pair anymore.
Huh?  The shape of the '99 is very different.  For people that really want that shape, they'll need to sole swap.  The shape of the '12 vs. the '16 look the same to me.
