Single biggest thing holding me back from copping these. How much does the tongue swap cost? Who does the best ones? I wonder if Nike will ever give us the Real McCoy

Mind you, you have to buy another pair of shoes. I copped the Hawks 1 back then I think I bought them for around $70. It cost about $30 (I think, cant remember) to swap. But I ended up reselling the Hawks with a white tongue for about $40. Its kind of costly to do it but all in all im happier with a black tongue.

I believe someone in here or the AJ 1 thread said on their Footlocker receipt these labeled as a quickstrike just like both SBB 1's were. With that said and these being remastered and one of the more popular OG colorways I say these won't be easy for a lot of folks.

I've heard rumors that the "Old Loves" will retro as well as the "New Loves" so maybe they'll come back out as highs? Then we'll finally get that black tongue. 

Among rumors of everything else that's coming back out

I believe someone in here or the AJ 1 thread said on their Footlocker receipt these labeled as a quickstrike just like both SBB 1's were. With that said and these being remastered and one of the more popular OG colorways I say these won't be easy for a lot of folks.

In Footlocker terms, QS doesn't necessarily mean limited. It just means no discounts.

This was more hyperbole to the original question but... here's an argument: BReds released about 6 weeks ago and in the intervening time Nike had a restock (yesterday's reserve thing), and footlocker/footaction (yeasterday in 'key' markets). The original dispersion map for the BReds at footstores showed an broad allocation across markets - something not usually seen for comparable 1s. Many have reported the big box stores that offered BReds (i.e. hibbits, footstores, etc) have confirmed they won't be carrying BTs for the release. While BReds are one of the most retro'd jays ('94, 2001, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2016) the BTs have not seen the re-retro love as much which I'll infer Jordan is not confident in the market for them -- if so one should not expect as plentiful of a run as with the popular BReds.

Overall I think there are markets who didn't get BReds and probably won't see these but will get the top 3s -- I have friends in the UPper peninsula area of Michigan an for the life of me I can't figure out any logic to the 1s they get. These won't be a cake walk and I'm not expecting a restock of any fashion over the next several weeks.

The OG retail is a white tongue but MJs PE pair had black tongues, the pair of the poster (and thus jumpman logo) is of black tongues. Nike has always retro'd the BTs with white tongue except for the Old/New love pack of 2006....which had a mid BT with a black tongue.

Since '85, I always wanted the Black Toe's he had on in the Nike promo hang tag with the black tongue.

The 5th is the release .... the 18th was a seeding (through promo) not a release. The QS is about a 2-week out marketing of the product (from Nike's end) and from retails end about keeping coupons/promos at bay. a seeding creates media attention on a product that will release for sale....the 18tg was not about bottom line sales number but about Nike getting us to re-post on social media about the promotion (without having to buy add space/traffic), having blogs post sbout the event (without having to buy ad space), getting tv notice which I'm sure complex and vlad's sneakerwarch was out and about for the event (without having to .... pay for tv ads).

ILL NEVER UNDERSTAND WHY HE DOES THAT TO HIMSELF LOL ITS NOT LIKE HE WAS WEARING CRAZY THREADS LIKE THAT IN THE 80S/90S.. AS FOR LACES.. WHATEVER THE TONGUE COLOR IS, IS WHAT WILL LOOK GREAT FOR LACES. THATS WHY WHITE LACES WORK FOR THESE, CHICAGOS, AND SBB AWAYS.. ALSO WHY I MAY NOT COP THESE. I NEED THAT BLACK TONGUE ON THESE.

It start earlier this year, but from here on out, all "good" JB/Nike releases are going to be labelled QS by Footlocker Inc. They are cracking down. The managers can't even override the "QS" code anymore
