To clear the air yes one does have to pay taxes if someone Sells something for a gain.

But here is the kicker

As long as that person isn't using a third party to monitor the transaction who can say it happed.

The government isn't looking into every cash transaction on the street.

Now eBay, PayPal, and other places that put a paper trail on your money can and will give your information to the government so that they can tax you

As a safe guard for the company to avoid money laundering and tax evasion using their service

You're right. Everyone isn't a criminal or lowlife -didn't expect you to take it literally. A bunch are, and that's enough for me to avoid the scene.

It's a shame, too, because I've been rocking Js for 30 years!

Chicago were my first pair.

Sad that gainfully employed, law abiding citizens avoid the lines. Meanwhile, tons of welfare recipients that rely on handouts (guess whose) stay and duck it up for everyone.

Is what it is. Just being honest about how I see it.
real.

Not worth the time/effort homie
yea i know I try to keep it cool with everyone even if I don't like em particularly, but that cat was just relentless. You would think I ****** his girl or something

Do you pay your taxes on all of your transactions sold?

Most, if not all, resellers haven't.

Tax evasion is illegal.
Paypal reports your earnings to the IRS if they exceed 200 transactions and 20k. Pretty sure very few cats in here are pumping those numbers in sneakers.

Have you paid sales tax on every single thing you've ever bought? If not, then expect a knock on your door from uncle sam.

To say most if not all resellers haven't, with no proof is a pretty bold statement fam.

It has to be both 200 transactions and $20k . It is not either or.

anyone in Houston cop from City Gear off of Beechnut in the H?

manager even had the nerve to take my name down and ask me what am I trying to pay retail or...............i was like i am willing to pay whatever(LIE)...before that she tells me these shoes are going for $700 on ebay....

CITY GEAR BEECHNUT IS FULL OF IT...keep in mind i just left the store prior to them supposedly getting their shipment....manager was on the phone outside talking to someone, that's when I knew something was up...homie called and asked if they had em they said yea cmon...im at the grocery store right across the street, so i head back up there...they tell me sold out, they only got 'LIKE 5 PAIRS'..."people were lurking in the lot waiting on them"...i didnt see anyone...

ALL THEIR PAIRS ARE IN THAT BUILDING STILL, ALL WILL BE OUT OF THAT BUILDING BY TONIGHT!

You don't have to pay taxes on things you purchase and decide to sell on your own, you already paid the tax when you purchase the shoe.

False.

However you can claim the initial monies paid for the shoe if you have receipts.

Any profit you have made you have to claim.

Purchasing a shoe for $160 plus tax and selling for $500 is not taxable. That's chump change.

You're not making over $1,000 for a single transaction.  You can put in $10 and win $500 in Vegas, you don't have to claim anything unless it's over $1,300.

Yea the minimum is $20k and over 200 transactions. I sell nowhere near that, I keep most of my sneakers, you can see that in the wdywt thread.
