People think it's just an air bubble. It wasn't.
It was THE unique and new feature of that model. Like I said, like the sock liners on Huaraches. Like the lacing system on Mags. Like the full length air sole on 97s. Like the springs on Shox R4s. Like the huge air intakes on a Testarossa.

i dont know any better. i have no physical history with 180s. now if we're talking the discrepancy with am1s, im on board with the nostalgic naysaying, but this is all i know with 180s, so im cool with the so called sub par retroing.

I hear ya mane... I'm just happy to have the 180's silhouette on my feet tbh. I have come to realize & accepted Nike's retros are usually 9 times out of 10 are inferior to the OG.

Man these are nice and the mesh on them looks good I bet they're hard to keep clean though lol. I really can't guess why Nike doesn't have the 180 in the current Sportswear line with the other Air Max's. I constantly see 1's 90's and 95's sitting on clearance and yet they keep pumping out colorways, smh.

i kind of like the fact that the 180 is esoteric. no shade on the other silhouettes, but i feel like if you see someone rocking with 180s, theyre either an enthusiast or some old dude who doesnt know a thing but just got unique taste. or found them joints at super low disco. also helps me to be a bit selective and pace myself with this model, and not feel the necessity to follow so closely, every release as i do with the others.

The only history I had was seeing a guy wear the originals. The 180 air pocket was huge. Its a disgrace today and I don't know why.

Didn't they get sued or something and had to change the air bag? Or maybe that was a diff air max idk its hard to keep up with all these models lol

See, I heard the same thing but that doesn't make sense. The retro still has the clear portion on the bottom but it's just a small air bag. What was so significant about the 180 that it was sued over? It's just a larger air bag.

oreos! why or when, did 180s mess with the terra midsole. imo, these and others would be so much better without the terra. basically like the old school version of lunar.
