damn ap. this is just a ****** week in the nfl.

easily worst week ever for them

According to police reports, the child, however, had a slightly different story, telling authorities that “Daddy Peterson hit me on my face.” The child also expressed worry that Peterson would punch him in the face if the child reported the incident to authorities. He also said that he had been hit by a belt and that “there are a lot of belts in Daddy’s closet.” He added that Peterson put leaves in his mouth when he was being hit with the switch while his pants were down. The child told his mother that Peterson “likes belts and switches” and “has a whooping room.”
no four year old should have to deal with this kind of thing, but some of y'all seem to think it's ok - a perfectly warranted way to discipline someone

But another woman has come forward to say she is the mother of another Peterson child — a 4-year-old boy — and that the running back has fathered enough children to run offense on seven-on-seven drills.
“To my knowledge he takes care of them all,” Erica Syion, a former gentlemen’s-club dancer from Dallas, told TMZ, “but I only found out about the other two this week.”
Syion said Peterson pays child support but doesn’t spend as much quality time with his children as he should. “He gets my son in the summertime,” Syion said, “but he could do better.”

Betting that's the kid.

He lost his son (who he never saw until after the beating) to a beating, and yet he still beats his son? I get physical punishment. That's what I got when I was a kid. But injuries like that? No. It's unacceptable.

Totally normal.  Nothing messed up or creepy about this at all.  Sounds like a great guy and father.

I got whoopings as a kid. but never my pops never drew went as far as to draw blood, hit my face, etc.

ap went tooo far. i get it. thats how he was brought up, but he ****** up so bad.

I've lost all respect for that *****. Idgaf how bad that kid was, it doesn't justify getting a switch to your nuts. It's abuse and there's no way to spin it. Hope they throw the book at his ***. How stupid do you have to be to think you could get away with that **** this day and age

Damn dudes in the league wildin :{ ...and hardy or McDonald shouldn't be playing if the league is really serious about domestic violence like they claim

Man I forgot the NFL suspended Terrelle Pryor for 5 games for selling his college merch and getting free tattoos. #justice

BREAKING: NFLPA votes to approve new drug policy. Among highlights: Relaxed standards for marijuana, adds blood testing for HGH.

Lil kid probably bad as hell and is obviously scared of his daddy like all sons should be. Kids will say anything to get off punishment. I got a lot of well deserved whoopings when i was young and I'm not emotionally scarred.

On another note shouldn't Daryl Washington's year long ban be overturned too?

A four year old. This is not some 8th grader that is mouthy and knows better. Ridiculous and sick. I'm also a bit afraid of some the posters in this thread having kids as well. You have to be able to decipher the difference between discipline and abuse. Seems the line is blurred for some

Wow AP

The NFL as a whole is taking some massive L's lately

yes harsh punishment but the overreaction is real ... more kids need discipline in this world ...

do you know how many people would be locked right now for using that method of discipline?
Nothing wrong with disciplining your child.

I'm from the Caribbean, and am all too familiar with getting a "whooping" from my parents, be it from a switch or pretty much anything they could get their hands on at the time.

To this day, the concept of getting put in timeout or grounded as punishment is still is foreign to me.

All that said, if the child's account of AP's beating is true then that's just disgusting.

A grown man punching a 4 year old in the face? Putting leaves in his mouth?

yeah that kid made up this crazy story about getting beat and then went and whooped himself so he had the evidence to back up his wild story

Dude there's pictures and text messages. This isn't just a kid talking to get out of trouble.
