I'm all for gay rights etc., but from the outside looking in, you can't tell me that there wasn't something fishy about the way everything went down w/ Sam (and the NFL) from the moment he came out.
Think about it...NFL, for as much money as they make, has an image problem. Concussions, off the field incidents w/ it's players/owners, team names, etc...
Having an openly gay athlete on a roster IS a great story. Especially for the NFL (after all the examples I gave above). If the CBS report is true, then it's kinda hard not to look at the league w/ a stinky eye for trying to pull a fast one. We can cite the Rams depth on the d-line all we want, but the fact that he ends up in Dallas of all places (remember, Jerry wanted Manziel but was talked out of it...so what's the next best thing?) and that there was little-to-no chatter of him signing anywhere else after being cut, really makes me raise an eyebrow as to whether or not Sam is in the league based off of talent OR his story...
