serious question...should the skins trade rg3 and get some key players or draft picks and hand the keys to cousins?
Serious question...why give up on a QB when he hasn't even played his 3rd year yet?
Would be absolutely moronic, for reasons that I listed a few pages back, to give the keys to the offense to Kirk ******* Cousins.

It's unreal what people see in backups around the NFL. Geez. You are what you are. Cousins has been below average in his starts. Please stop
That's the bottom line.
Griffin needs to have a bounce back year, but he was playing last season on one leg. Even on that one leg he was 1000x better than Cousins. Cousins is a capable BACKUP. Nothing more, nothing less.
if im the skins i use this season to make a decision long term on him. if he has a horrid season and the skins dont see him long term, why wouldnt they get something for him before his value drops? looks like shanny was on point with drafting another qb that year. im not saying cousins is the answer im saying if it seems rg3 cant get it together this season and possible next season why not get something when his stock is still up? these next 2 seasons will tell.
Gruden did some good things with Andy Dalton. You give RG3 at the minimum, 2 years (under Gruden) to see what his trajectory is. It would be beyond foolish and moronic for the Skins to give up on Griffin this early. He had arguably the best rookie season ever for a QB, was beyond "meh" in year 2, so let's see what happens this year. I'm not going to overreact to him not playing well in the preseason. If my memory serves me right, he was pretty bad in the 2012 preseason as well. It doesn't mean a lot. As I've said all along, if his shaky play continues into week 3/4 into the regular season then you can raise your eyebrows. Traditionally, year 3 is where you see what type of QB you have. I'm HOPING that Griffin regains his form and can show that he's the Skins franchise player going forward. I'm hoping that Griffin can have a 2/1 TD/INT ratio and at the minimum, close to 4000 yards passing, and lead the team to an 8-8 record (at worst). There shouldn't be too many excuses as this has been about as drama-free of an offseason that we've had in DC in quite some time.
