Was it that egregious? Of course not, but still stupid to do that and simply opens himself up for criticism when it wasn't necessary

Only place that isn't acceptable is the sideline. He could've been laying on a training table watching the game with his phone in hand. I fail to see any issue

Watching the game with his phone in his hand is acceptable if he was you or me....MUCH different for someone actually on the team and in the stadium. Especially for someone like CLowney whose desire/effort has been questioned since day one. This won't help.

Can't stay off your phone for two hours while the team that drafted you is playing? It's not even like it was a blowout :lol

Sick or not, he probably shouldn't have played. He didn't look fully healthy last week. Bye week coming up, let the guy rest. If he finishes the season with a couple of sacks, no one will care about any of this

the excuses for Clowney :{

win that game and you are right there with the Colts for the division

Yea imma have to disagree.

Folks need reasons on why another season is going downhill & this just adds to it. Making a story outta nothing.

LOL

We're not beating out the Colts. We're not good enough yet. Another draft or so and we'll be back in the mix. This season was supposed to be to develop a rookie QB :{

lol so when we have a QB, and our RB and WR are gone, what's next? Texans are one of those rare teams that never got good in a league swinging with parity. It is almost hard to be so consistently mediocre.

Our RB isn't going anywhere. When's the last time Andre Johnson made a huge impact on a game? Until we get a capable QB, Andre is just an expensive receiver.

Sorry but you play to win week by week

Yeah the Texans aren't on the Colts level but one injury can change all that and once you get into the playoffs; you never know

Dre contributes to the run. Arian's got mileage in addition to a contract and an injury. Maybe you believe in Hopkins and Alfred Blue but this team is not going to go anywhere for awhile.

Watt's great. Clowney's got all the potential. But our secondary blows. Swearinger is an old school safety and can't tackle.

Lol and saying Dre is just an expensive receiver is someting else. Dre is still a monster, he's just had crappy QBs man

Foster may not be going anywhere, but will he still be at the same level by the time they actually draft then develop a quarterback? Same with Andre. That's the point.

If you're the Browns Brass do you contact the Texans, Bills, Jets, Chiefs, Bucs, or Rams to trade Johnny Football?

Andre is getting cut in the offseason. We aren't paying him 15+ million. Receivers can be found. Yes it will suck losing foster, but our offensive line isn't good. In one or two years with good drafting we'll contend again

Texans might as well keep losing and scoop up MM8. idk why they are even trying to win :lol. next year I expect them to be a problem with anyone BUT Fitz at QB and Clowney/Watt

Does Hoyer really fill them with that kind of confidence though? They're a Terrence West chop block away from probably losing that game. Well, that and Mike Glennon thinking every WR has a giraffe neck like him.

What do the Browns do for a QB if they trade Johnny? Nab Cook or Dak?

Texans should just toss Mallet out there and see what he can do. It's been ******* weeks since that trade, if he doesn't know the playbook by now cut him.

Browns aren't trading their first round QB pick lol. Unless Johnny's rolling 20s int he locker room, a team will have to pay a king's ransom. Not to mention Lebron probably will veto it.

Probably time to throw in Mallet...he worked with O'Brien in New England but really, who cares.... we couldn't get Barkley so we went after Mallet... it'll just be to stir the pot a bit. Sucks that Watt is having MVP seasons while everything else is garbage

That's so crazy to think.... but it actually has some truth IMO. LeBron owns Clevland, and his marketing team manages Johnny. Bron has pull in Cleveland.

@RapSheet
If Adrian Peterson agrees to a plea deal Tuesday, do not expect him to be immediately reinstated & active. Maybe in time. Not immediately.
 ESPN's Chris Mortensen stated on NFL Insiders that it's "very possible" Adrian Peterson returns to play for the Vikings this season.

Mort initially reported the Vikings had essentially washed their hands of A.P. Per Mortensen now, the team is "softening" its stance. Peterson should be picked up in all 12- and 14-team leagues this week in anticipation of a potential return during the fantasy playoffs. Peterson would rejoin the team with fresh legs, and likely render rookie Jerick McKinnon a change-of-pace back.
