@Ballerific703 even tho we've been on the opposite spectrum with our opinions as of late, it's no hate man; just a passionate fan, that's all. I respect your views, && agree with you on some of them.
Can't really speak on what I wasn't here to see (at least as an active member) in terms of your prognostications over the last 2.5 years. But I don't doubt it at all, although it seems that Cam gets flak pretty regularly...but that could just be me keying in on those things as a lifelong fan of the team.
With this offensive line playing as poorly as ever, there are times where he literally has to give up on plays && try to create himself...too damn often, I might add.
I think those bad decisions that we see at times come from him having that tremendous workload with not much help to ease him of the accompanying pressures, like a legitimate running game or OC, for example. We've been trotting him out there with crumbs up front && around him, generally speaking. And after awhile, having the whole team on your back for so long starts to take its toll, && our opponents clearly realize that.
I can't really view the Smitty/Joe thing as much more than a fun fact, because we could just as easily say that Cam made Smitty relevant again to begin with, which is also true.
Flash back to 2011 && there were plenty of times that season alone where 89 was one yard short of having multi TD games with Cam as the QB.
He has his weaknesses, no doubt. But if Dalton, Kaep, etc. are getting upwards of $100M, while being at or around Cam's level, that's def. enough for me to shell out the money if I'm Dave Gettleman.
And, yes, one winning season, but harken back to '11 && '12, where you'll see COUNTLESS leads pissed away late by the defense. I know he's asked to do a lot, but he can only do but so much.

*waits for Cam fans to come in and complain about a lack of receivers*
not that they'd be wrong...but they were pretty adamant about "being good" at the WR position earlier in the year
He's going to take @AJIIIpLATINum with him to be his official Gatorade filler iller upper
I'll respond to the shot because it was intended for me. I've said Cam was overrated for the last 2.5 years and got roasted by most of NT.
He's not a smart QB, makes a lot of bad decisions.
He's not an accurate QB.
He misses too many reads.
Gives up too early on plays and gets crushed. He's big but his body not gonna be able to take all those hits.
Flacco and Steve Smith had more multi TD games in week 3 or 4, than Cam and Steve Smith had combined. Steve also said that Cam wasn't the smartest.
AND my biggest problem with Cam since day one, he's more into the spotlight than football. He loves being on camera.
I don't think Cam is trash, I don't think he's good enough to win you a ring and I sure as hell wouldn't give him a 100 million dollar contract.
How many winnings seasons does he have? Is it just one?
Cutler sort of was closest to FA as they'll get. Cam will get paid and it'll be a huge amountWhen was the last time a Franchise / Top caliber QB hit the FA market?
Outside of Peyton because they colts decided to move in a different direction after they won the Luck lottery.
You being a Raiders fan and watching all of their games since they were in LA does not give you credibility to judge the caliber of an NFL QB. Also, especially being a Raiders fan, it certainly shouldn't give you any merit to judge what is and is not a franchise QB. Since LA they have had Rich Gannon as their best QB, and that was only for 4 years with exceptional help from coaching, system, and the talent around him. Not clowning at all, but that is just fact, you nor I has seen what makes a franchise QB in Oakland.
You have no merit or basis to say this (Bold) as fact... So, using logic or something you KNOW and can prove, what makes you say this?
McGloin is not, was not, and will not be a starting QB again. He isn't good. Where people get this from, I'll never know. To argue getting Mariotta... fully could understand this argument. But the guys going so hard to for starting a 3rd string QB who wasn't good is shocking to me. Not really, ,it's NT, but there is more than one person saying as much.
Exactly where he should be. He did a fine job as a backup. He should never ever start on an NFL team again.
So what makes Carr a starting QB? What does that say about Carr if Matt McGloin/McGroin "the bench player" has outperformed him?
Im waiting for real Derek Carr analysis and stats.
That is the reason why a big portion of the Nation is calling for McGloin over Shaub and Carr.
