New York NT'ers check in vol: L.I. vs The City

i live on long island.  it's definitely boring out here but i like the quiet.  long island drivers are idiots though.
where do your kids live? LI?

figure out what would be better financially for you.  if i had my choice, i'd move to queens like someone mentioned before.  i want to move to astoria in a few years.

I used to live in East Islandia which is 30mins from NYC, it's was cleaner, cheaper,

family oriented, fresh grass and park etc.



I love city life, but I would have to commute and never see my little ones on week days until bed time basically.

Would your kids be coming with you? i'd say do whatever is best for you and your fam.

L.I. would def be a better living situation for your kids growing up so id say make that move back... just not to Brentwood tho

ITS NOT EASY. I WENT FROM PAYING $775/MON (RENTING) TO $2,987 (MORTGAGE) AND NOT TO ADD TO THE COMMUTE AND GAS AND MILES YOUR CAR WILL ACCUMULATE OVER THE TIME.

yeah .. I would look beyond bwood, ci, and bay shore.
people who aren't from LI probably don't realize how bad some of the towns out here can really be.

Oh, I know, trust the Brent is almost as bad as Wyandanch ...I lived in Brentwood on Walton for a few months, cousin got shot 6 times, gangs, etc...

I think Queens is your best bet for whay you want...there are areas where you can get a little of both for what you are looking for.
