Hernandez was placed on suicide watch.
On a radio show I listen to, there was a correspondent who was shedding some light on the trial (she attended). She said the most interesting thing was that the prosecution didn't edit any of the surveillance videos of Hernandez in his house the day after the shooting. They played the WHOLE video. Hours of unedited footage. It showed Hernandez, Wallace, and Ortiz chillin' by his pool, playing with his daughter, etc. This is where the defense's story fell apart. The defense was hoping that by saying Hernandez was scared/confused at the crime scene and didn't shoot, the jurors wouldn't find him guilty. They also said Hernandez was worried for Lloyd after the killing. Well, by showing the hours of footage, not once did Hernandez appear to have a care in the world. If he was that worried abotu Lloyd, he would have gone back to the industrial park at some point the next day. Nah...this dude just carried on with his life like nothing happened. A true psycho.
The correspondent also said, which obviously came true, that you don't have to be found actually shooting the gun to be found guilty of murder. If you are plotting the murder, provide the gun, etc. you can be found guilty of 1st degree.
Hernandez was sloppy, his defense sucked, and this is why he's going to be behind bars for the rest of his life with no chance of parole.
He's only going to be in that prison by Gillette for a few weeks then he's being transported to a different jail. The correspondent said the jail he's going to is notoriously bad. He'll be confined to his cell for 23 hours of the day.
At this point, why wouldn't he just kill himself?
