If Floyd lost every penny he's got before his next fight, after the fight he'd be set for life AGAIN
Mayweather earned $105 million during the past 12 months for 72 minutes of work in the ring for fights against Canelo Alvarez and Marcos Maidana. The payday puts Mayweather atop Forbes’ annual list of the world’s highest-paid athletes for the second time in three years. Mayweather is the first athlete, besides Tiger Woods, to crack the $100 million earnings threshold (Michael Jordan, Michael Schumacher and Mike Tyson have also turned the trick on an inflation-adjusted basis).
how can you compare ali in his heyday to floyd with success when ali's heyday was in the 60's - early 70's
All im saying is floyds main income is his fights & once he retires its gonna be hard to sustain that lifestyle for the rest of his life unless he finds that next great fighter as a promoter
Human jealousy and envy is a powerful thing.cats are praying he goes broke so they can sleep better at night.
there is no comparison granted times race issues etc... were different but so was the popularity of boxing as well. and floyd unlike any other boxer, hell any other athlete has taken full advantage of his gift and capitalized on it like no other. plus pbf makes money outside of him fighting, granted not quite as much as he does fighting but it isnt exactly chump change. and floyd lifestyle etc... is all apart of the package selling point that is him and apart of why he is successful and ppl watch his fights. im not saying he wouldnt be flashy etc.... but what im saying he does this in large because of the image and it helps further his popularity career aka makes him money.how can you compare ali in his heyday to floyd with success when ali's heyday was in the 60's - early 70's

Didnt even read this thread but i am sure this is top 3 dumbest posts in this thread. For one Tyson is not mentally all the way there. For two tyson didnt own his promotion company nor did he have much say in his contract on payment or who he fought. Tyson let Don King swindle him out of money, Tyson didnt lose his money for over spending on himself he lost it but not following himself. For three Tyson had no business endeavors to protect his money long term nor did he even seem interested in running businesses. He did nothing to try to capitalize his fighting success with businesses success. Floyd has created a promotion company, has played around in the app business and basically created his own memorabilia company with TMT merchandise.
But i am sure you just hate the way he looks and he rubs you the wrong way because you are mad.
what's wrong with not being cool with strangers?Say all you want, I hear this excuse all the time... I've met Mayweather countless times!
He's the same way on and off the camera! If you ain't on his payroll... he ain't cool with you.
May weather got y'all jimmies rustled beyond imagination
okaythenC'mon Ricky...
Did you even bother what I was responding to?
It's not about him being "cool" with strangers... I was responding to the fact, people actually believe that his persona is an act... That he acts that way to play villain, so people can "watch" him lose.
I'm letting y'all know, that he's the same way ON and OFF the camera. There is no "act"... he does what he does to stay in the spot light, and to let people know that he's richer than them.
Why is it such a big deal to you the way he carries himself though? At the end of the day his persona (which you believe to be his true self) still sparks you to talk about him and keep his name relevant so it looks like he's doing a pretty good job.C'mon Ricky...

Somebody caught feelings quick
What notable boxers is TMT promoting besides Floyd? What apps has he created that's generating considerable revenue?
and he wont be acting like that etc... because its his shtick, his way of promoting himself, staying in the limelight and keeping him relevant. so why would he be doing this aka promoting himself his brand and fights if he is retired?Exactly what is he "acting"? his last couple fights hes calmed down on the trash talking, so is he still "acting" to sell fights, dudes pulling the capes from all over, i know hes not gonna go "broke" but that lifestyle wont be the same once the money slows up aka retirement
exactly you could argue from a business standpoint, and having total control etc of their careers pbf might be the best to ever do it.http://www.mayweatherpromotions.com/fighters/ there you go. Now name all the revelant promotion companies...1 of them is falling a part because of one of floyds business partners is doing better business (haymon) and the other has a horrible reputation (top rank). Now ask your self which promotion company holds the 2 top relevant fights in boxing each year. When floyd transitions from boxing he will be hands down be in actual business operations unlike any other boxers we have seen. You cant even name a boxer with any revelant business moves in the last 20 years outside of foreman. Floyd is already on another level than boxers and competes with the likes of michael jordan, tiger woods, and lebron james. The fact you would even compare him to a boxer money wise just shows how little you understand about how athletes make their money.
Do you know who Floyds endorsements are? HIMSELF. Lebron and MJ could never do that.

But how do you know his money will slow up? You have this idea that all he can do is box. He has a brain, the reason why most athletes money slow up is because they dont have a brain. Im pretty sure michael jordans money hasnt slowed up.
