Need help customizing my pair of AJ4's

What's up e'rrybody? Does anyone know how to go about doing a mocassin stitch? I'm re-doing, or customizing a pair of my IV's for a project,and I want to utilize the mocassin stitch technique similar to what Alex Nash used in this video (from hypebeast)... Anyone have any suggestions/quicktutorials? Anything helps, I'm tryna get this done asap to get it over with. Thanks a lot!

You want a whipstitch - for joining 2 pieces of fabric where the edges meet.
