Game has changed a lot since the 80s and 90s. Fast breaks and playing fast weren't things every team could do. Only a handful you also didn't have 8 sec half court violation.

Anyones stats today are going to look better then in the past. Ie klay Thompson 27 point quarter vs gervin 26.

Stockton was a great player but never had to shoulder a scoring load like curry does he played alongside the greatest scoring pf ever.

Also did you cite a 1 point difference as proof of eras being different? They are different but that’s a horrible example. Scoring in the 80’s was as high/higher than it is today, but the way the points were scored was different. Coaching philosophies were different.

one thing opponents always say he struggle with is the warriors pacing. its always changing. look at how dray was pushing the ball in the last two games. he decided to that on his own clearly cuz nobody else pushed with him. and it was killing the blazers.

years ago when the warriors became THE warriors they were outrunning everyone. fast breaks nonstop. now the league adjusted, so their pace is changing by the quarter.

gotta say i do enjoy the faster pace though a la older warriors, lebron era heat
