The Warriors NEED both KD and Steph that’s why it’s a team
You need kd’s trump iso card
You need steph’s PnR gravity down the stretch
You need them both. That’s why it’s a team. Without either, the road to a championship is harder. KD’s the better player but in this context it really is irrelevant
I truly think though that **** would get so tricky if you replaced THIS version of Draymond with some other 4 man. A lot of what they do defensively works because of insanely good Dray is at defense and rebounding, and kicking out guys ahead of time, being able to play center almost full time when necessary and it NOT being a mismatch...Draymond man

Those 4 on their own should be able to win a 7 game series if they even play remotely decent. They lost in 2016 and lost 2 games in 2015 because the beige god curry turned into light skin voshon Lenard two years straight.

I think they do. They had a 100%, fully healthy 29 year old Steph Curry in 2017. He went dumb that post season. People really forget that.

It’s the other end too, Harden was having his way with every non KD defender for most of this year’s series
He’s truly a trump card.
My argument is that they NEED KD for sure to win, but they do need Steph too. Need them both I think. And Draymond. Without either of those 3, with the way the league is set up now, the rockets or bucks could get them.

He didn’t play well in the rockets series last season tho. The production just gets shifted. The series changed when they put the ball in Steph’s hands....went away from KD ISO’s and slipped the screens, moved the ball.
You forgot Kerr pulling KD aside....the rockets do a great job at switching and baiting KD to iso mismatches.

The league has caught up to the warriors. The margin for error is slim as it’s ever been for them. Kevin Durant increases that margin for error, allows them to play a different way if need be, and they’re the favorites with him playing.
Without him playing, they’re still the slight favorites. For these reasons:
-Chemistry
-Coaching
-Experience
-They have the best player going forward in every series in Steph
-They have the best defender going forward in every series in draymond
-They have Klay who can catch fire at any moment
-They’ve done it before
