Not the argument. The point is that they do NOT need him. They’re proving it now and have proven that multiple times years prior. You can argue against facts if you like now

Proving it now??? against who??? Portland who they are better than? Houston who gave up?

Prove it vs the Bucks then. (if they make it)

Before we call Steph back, can we at least take a look at the piss poor defense scheme the blazers came up with last night. Going into the game the Blazer knew that the Warriors were going to try and get Kanter switched onto Curry. So instead of doubling curry and switching back, they just didnt bring kanter up on the screens to flash out. There was at least 10 instances of this last night that led to 3s from the warriors

Kanter 1.PNG

Self explanatory. Steph comes around a bogut screen. Kanter's assignment is Bogut. Instead of flashing up to help he sits back because he doesnt want to get switched onto curry. Leads to a wide open steph 3
Kanter 2.PNG

Same exact play with Klay. Leads to a wide open two for klay.

Kanter 3.PNG

Same situation. Kanter's assignment is Draymond. Instead of helping up on the screen, they give the best shooter of all time this shot. No one with in 5 feet because they arent helping the guards on screens.
Kanter 4.PNG

Curry coming around a screen with Kanter 10 feet away from the ball. Leads to wide open Curry 3.
Kanter 5.PNG

At this point I think you are starting to get the picture. Kanter's assignment is looney. Looney screens up, no help from Kanter, wide open curry 3
Kanter 6.PNG

Take a wild guess who's supposed to be helping on curry/looney here? Surprise, another wide open 3 from curry that he easily knocks down.
Kanter 7.PNG

Same play with Klay. Easy bucket

Kanter 8.PNG

Wonder what happens here.

Last night was easily one of the dumbest defensive game plans that I've seen in a playoff game. "Hey, you guys have the greatest 3 point shooter of all time? Cool, we are going to dare him to shoot because we dont want to risk Kanter getting switched onto Curry or Klay." The Warriors abused this ALL NIGHT. Easily resulted in 30+ easy points when you factor in the 7 or so wide open 3s from steph and easy 3s/2s from Klay.

The Blazers are going to have to either bench Kanter or start doubling on the screens. The post game presser was laughable at best. Stotts got all defensive when someone asked him why he didnt double curry, used one half against the Rockets as an example. That's great, curry was lights out for a half, but he played like **** for 5.5 games before that half because of it.

You cannot really say this if you watched that Finals.

Last year...Steph was better in 3/4 games. It was a damn sweep :lol. They were winning that series anyway.

The year before...KD went dumb. Steph did too. I mean, we’re talking about a guy who averaged 27/9/8 in a finals. They were literally running at him at the 3 point line to concede KD dunks :lol.

We talking about the last 2 finals in which the Cavs won a total of 1 game.

Warriors going to win again this year. KD going to stay. And the NBA world is going to be SICK.

-No Zion to Knicks
-No star for Bron to pair with
-KD stays
-Warriors win

The collective disappointment for the NBA is going to be delicious when all of this happens.

You gonna throw away all their success before he got there? Y’all wanna play that game?

Nah, I won't and cannot do that.
But this is not the same Warriors as 3 years ago.

Then-They did NOT need him
Now-They Need him to win a championship

This
Is
What
They
Do

History and every thing else should tell you that this Curry you’ll see more so than the one that “played like ****” for 5.5 games :lol. This is his ascension to the mean.

Y’all still don’t get it.

Giving Steph and Klay wide open shots is not a recipe for winning.

Watching it from this angle Embiid was no where near contesting Leonard's shot (NBA Level contest). It was really a wide open look. The bunny hop jump that Embiid made before he jumped to contest the shot took him all the way out the play.

Apparently there is some sort of statistic for this, but Steph his the most open threes in a playoff game of all time. Think about that for a minute. That's awful, awful defense.

but theyre used to seeing hands in their face as they shoot, so putting pressure wont bother them

but letting them shoot wide open may get in their head if they start missing

they kinda streaky so they could go cold too

That’s not good defense. You’re correct. I just don’t think there is much Portland can do :lol. Switch the coverage up...and GSW will rightly counter and make you move/communicate on defense more...and you’ll still get a 30 piece from Steph when Portland is in a scramble mode.

Yea, but you live with that rather than giving Steph wide open 3s whenever he wants them out of PnRs. That was mind-boggling to watch live.

They were still in it with that strategy. Stotts was praying that dame or cj could catch fire

Watched enough warriors games and seen what happens when everyone gets involved

Pdx in a lose/lose situation

If they didn’t need him Draymond would have never called him in the car crying b
