...with team owner Dr. Jerry Buss' blessing, the Lakers added a special twist to the rings they received in Los Angeles on Tuesday. Each of the 60 rings (handed out to players, coaches and organization personnel) include leather bits made from cut up pieces of the ball that was used in last June's Game 7.
The leather strips are included on the underside of the ring, and it seems like a nice little touch, especially as these rocks (that Phil Jackson called "unwearable" before Tuesday night's opener) get more and more ostentatious.
Beyond the leather, there are over three karats worth of diamonds (including 16 oversized diamonds symbolic of the team's 16 championships), and to hear Dave McMenamin of ESPN Los Angeles tell it, "a 3-dimensional sculpture of his face, an upgrade from the laser-cut faces on the 2009 rings." The upgrade is courtesy Jason of Beverly Hills, if you're interested.

The forgotten game of the nite....Interesting to see how the Suns claw their way through the West this year. Nash doesn't seem to see them as a playoff team yet, justifiably so, with all the new parts coming together, but somehow I see them fighting through as a 6-8th seed...they just definitely won't replicate last season's success without Amar'e
I know Hyperfuse's are one of the main kicks in the game right now, but considering that we saw Rondo ad Roy in those PE's in the playoffs, I'm kinda looking to see something new on them already! Yup the start of season's impatience already on display! AZK 6's, AJ 2011, CP3.IV's, RetroXIIIs and all of the other goodies...can't wait!
My disappointment with Fisher moving to Adi is similar to when Agassi left as well....just one of those "Why!?" moments...
