First Team:
1- Kidd
2- Iverson
3- Garnett
4- Duncan
5- Shaq
(just like the thread starter)
Second Team:
1- Nash
2- McGrady or Kobe
3- LeBron
4- Brand
5- Shaq again (his domination at the 5 early in this decade has disqualified all other centers from being a 1st or 2nd Teamer)
Third Team:
1- Chauncey
2- Pierce
3- Vince
4- Dirk
5- Amare
I really want Melo on my 2nd or 3rd Teams, but I can't find a place for him.
Dead Last Team:
1- Smush Parker
2- Ricky Davis
3- Samaki Walker
4- Olowokandi or Kwame Brown
5- Slava Medvedenko
Even though I think Kobe is overrated, I gotta agree with this one..Originally Posted by Ronald0
im sorry but theres no way you can have AI over Kobe.....
Vince Carter has career averages of 24 points, 5.5 reb, 4.1 assists.
Kobe Bryant has career averages of 24.7 points, 5.2 reb, 4.6 assists.
Allen Iverson has career averages of 27.8 points, 3.9 reb, 6.3 assists, not to mention 2.3 steals.
Tracy McGrady has career averages of 22.4 points, 6.2 reb, 4.6 assists.
Paul Pierce has career averages of 23.5 points, 6.5 reb, 3.9 assists.
Ray Allen has career averages of 21.4 points, 4.6 reb, 3.9 assists.
If anything, its Ray Allen that gets left out of the discussion.
And yes, C-Webb deserves A LOT of love in this discussion because before his knee blew out, he was a baaaad boy. Even after his trash years of late, he stillboasts career averages of 20.9 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 4.3 assists.
99-00 - 24.5 points, 10.5 reb, 4.5 assists
00-01 - 27.1 points, 11.1 reb, 4.2 assists
01-02 - 24.5 points, 10.1 reb, 4.8 assists
02-03 - 23.0 points, 10.5 reb, 5.4 assists
03-04 - 18.7 points, 8.7 reb, 4.6 assists (straight from microfracture surgery)
04-05 - 21.3 points, 9.7 reb, 5.5 assists (on 1 leg)
05-06 - 20.2 points, 9.9 reb, 3.4 assists (in Philly on 1 leg)
If your name ain't Tim Duncan or KG, you are NOT messin wit that at all. I remember that game when he had his career high... it was something like 51points and 26 rebounds.... in the SAME DAMN GAME..
He makes 3rd team to me... EASY
can someone explain to me why VC gets the thumbs up for an all-decade team?
Why wouldn't he? He's done more than other SG's in being the go to guy on a team & in putting up great all around numbers (besidesKobe as the 1st choice). He was the leader in Toronto & put up great feats there in his tenure. Then coming to NJ & having great career years. I thinkif you look at other SG's in looking to sort out names for this list, his name would come up 2nd behind Kobe, & deservingly so.
1st Team
1- Kidd
2- Kobe
3- Garnett
4- Duncan
5- Shaq
2nd Team
1- Iverson
2- Carter
3- LeBron
4- Dirk
5- Webber
3rd Team
1- Nash
2- Pierce
3- McGrady
4- Brand
5- Amare
Because Kidd > Iverson as a point guard and as a player, but especially as a point guard.Originally Posted by CP1708

AI
Kobe
Bron
Duncan
Shaq
Easy.

First Team (AI and Kobe BOTH have to be on the team. It's not even really all that debatable)
AI
Kobe
KG
Duncan
Shaq
Second Team
Jason Kidd
Tracy McGrady
Lebron James
Chris Webber
Elton Brand
Third Team
Chauncey Billups
Vince Carter
Paul Pierce
Dirk Nowitski
Amare Stoudamire
Honorable Mentions - Melo, D-Wade, Dwight Howard (those 3 will be replacing some names before the decade ends. But this is where it stands now) and Ray Allen
Agreed with CWebb's production. But........
Starting with the 2000-01 season Webber ended up missing 157 total games. And that's not including this season. The guy was obviously a beast but I'mnot sure 2nd team All Decade would be right with the games he was "not" producing for his teams. But that's just me. I do see though the lack ofCenters we've had so Webber could be grouped differently possibly.
You also omitted Steve Nash completely, even off your Honorable Mentions?
1st Team
1- Kidd
2- Kobe
3- Garnett
4- Duncan
5- Shaq
2nd Team
1- Iverson
2- Carter
3- LeBron
4- Dirk
5- Webber
3rd Team
1- Nash
2- Pierce
3- McGrady
4- Brand
5- Amare
While there is no denying Vince's god given abilities, there is probably not a personnel man in the league who would agree that Vince Carteris 2nd Team while Steve Nash is 3rd in the same guard grouping.
Good to see Brand getting a lot of love too
I agree with those who listed Shaq twice, that's about right
You also omitted Steve Nash completely, even off your Honorable Mentions?
Yo, you are 100% correct man. I was at work tryna type of my list and multitask when I was supposed to be working
I think Nash absolutely should be on the list, probably 2nd team, and at the least 3rd. Which would end up with me ommitting Chauncey Billups.
