How long did it take you to get the bun?View media item 1482410
I've been growing my hair out lately and this is what I have so far. I don't always bun it though. Sorry for the filter, it's from my gram lol
How long did it take you to get the bun?
I've been thinking about getting a bun for a long time, it's always been a project but I've never had the patience to actually go through with it. My hair grows back really really fast, I also don't want that little tip that some dudes have. I want it to be actually big and **** but I think from here on out I'm just gonna grow it outIt's hard to say. Maybe a year or a little bit over. I usually just shaved my sides and kept the top, but I have been growing everything out since labor day. Eventually I want all my hair to go up, not just the top. Last time I cut the top was probably last July or August. I actually have the bottom knotted as well, its hard to see it. My hair grows pretty quick so It's hard to say how long it'll take you though. Are you trying to grow yours, and how long have you been growing your top?

Did the same thing. My top ties up but just started growing out the sides too.
Do you still get a very low fade?
Try Bumble & Bumble Sumotech. Works good for me and I have really thick hair.Been rocking this for over four years now and I'm so bored of it! I have super thick hair so I put so much products and hairspray in it that it hurts just to lay my head down without washing it out. I want something different, easier to maintain and less products! Help a brother out!
But shout out to the natural parters haha ain't no artificial parts here b
Ah man, GP is a bit out of the way for me. I live in Mesquite and spend most of my time somewhere around 75. There's a spot in Richardson some friends were telling me about called Razorz that sounds like the spot you go to. My past few haircuts have been at Floyd's in either Uptown or Addison.Welcome home bro! So I been getting my haircut at the same barbershop here in Grand Prairie for nearly 6-7 years now. It's call "Just Real Cutz" and they are all barbers there. It's a nice retail spot, nothing fancy where you get free beers or anything, but its clean, everyone there knows each other and hangs out outside of the barbershop. Go to anyone BUT Mikey .. he can't cut to save his life, he's honestly there because the owner is giving him a second chance in life and to stay out of trouble haha but I do recommend Louis or Dustin .. but Billy D there hits you with the meanest fade, its smooth as butter bro, but he doesn't like cutting anything on top, he hates using scissors. Cuts are $18 and I usually tip a $5 or more ..
I used to go to Studio 1514 in Downtown Dallas when I worked there but I got sick of Gabe (I don't think he works there anymore) always running behind on his appointments, making you wait hours and putting people ahead of you if they tip him like $100. Plus I was spending like $60 with tip on a haircut every two weeks wasn't worth it.
But I'll go grab some of that Bumble & Bumble you're recommending next wknd. My hair is long down to my lips now, I can barley bun it but I want to do something different, like go for the messy look but not sure if I can pull it off.
I've noticed that if a barber can give you a good fade, they usually aren't handy with the scissors. I hate when people just grab your hair and cut straight across without taking into account the shape of your head and texture of your hair. When I get a haircut I ask them to texture and thin out the top, never had a barber give a good fade and take care of the top the way I like it. For a while I would go get a fade and just cut the top myself. A lady who cut my hair once told me that when you get trained to be a barber, they don't really train you to use scissors, but more to use the clippers. What kind of legitimate barber cannot scissor?
Y'all doing it wrong.

Paying $60 w/ a tip isn't irregular for getting a haircut at a Salon. I used to pay $50 (including tip) at Salon Pompeo in Dallas. The lady who cut my hair was knowledgable, gave me advice on what products to use, how to style my hair, and styling techniques. Plus I got a shampoo before/after and free drinks. Unfortunately, I left my job to go back to school so I can't afford such luxuries anymore
EL OH EL WUT.
Have not been to a barbershop in years. Someone aware me of this phenomenon.
It's all depending on personal experience. All I know is that my barber is vicious with scissors and fades.
