Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Movie (Reboot Announced)

I posted this in the "I Never Knew That" thread and figured it would be appreciated here if it hasn't been mentioned yet.

Spider-Man was the original Mighty Morphing Power Ranger.

(aired 1978-1979)

While Toei's version of the character wore the same costume as his Marvel counterpart, the show's storyline and the origin of the character's powers deviated completely from the source material. In addition to fighting by himself, this incarnation of Spider-Man also piloted a giant robot known as Leopardon, which he would summon to thwart off enlarged versions of the show's monsters. Toei would adopt the giant robot concept in subsequent incarnations of their own Super Sentai franchise.

In 1985, Marvel Comics produced a pilot for an American adaptation of a Super Sentai Series, but the show was rejected by the major US TV networks.[8] In 1986, Saban Productions produced a pilot for an American adaptation of Choudenshi Bioman, titled Bio Man.[9][10] In 1987, some episodes of Kagaku Sentai Dynaman were dubbed and aired as a parody on the USA Network television show Night Flight.

In 1993, Haim Saban produced the first installment of the Power Rangers franchise by dubbing the action sequences from 1992's Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger and filming new footage with American actors for the story sequences. This trend has continued, with each successive Super Sentai show contributing the action sequences to the Power Rangers series the following year.

The show even had the OG to Rita Repulsa, the Putties, the growing monster, etc. Watch from 18:46 and on. (already cued)

Jim Stan Lee is indirectly responsible for creating the Mighty Morphing Power Rangers.

If they make a power rangers movie reboot, I'll watch. That was my childhood, man.

The original green ranger days was one of my favorite memories lol

The whole thing fell off after the 1995 movie, it was never the same for me again.

I have a feeling that I'm not going to like the reboot. I'll be too biased. The '95 movie is still fresh in my head :lol

That's super dope. How much does it cost you to make that? Would you ever consider selling them?

That was the guy I was worried about. I looked up the movies he produced and I don't like most of them. :lol

They still have the screenwriters from DOFP, which is what gave me hope to begin with.

This is bad news but I'm still very optimistic about the film.

season 1 and season 2 up to the white light part 2 episode was mmpr to me. after that it got more and more cringe worthy. should of kept the og cast. why were jason, trini, and zack replaced?

I used to know. I don't remember anymore.

Imo the show fell off sometime after the 95 movie.

They committed the unforgivable offense and asked Saban for more money. Lol, Saban cared about moving toys and games. He couldn't care less who was under the helmet.

Which was weird because while I still watched the show and bought stuff, characters like Rocky, Aisha and cat were never better than the originals. Like it used to have cool stuff outside of power ranger fighting like Jason and tommy competing in karate tournaments but after the mains were kicked off, it felt like that aspect went away

In connection with the pay raise, they also wanted to join the union. Amy jo Johnson till this day claims they were paid about $600 per week and shot episodes 9 months out of the year.

Uncensored Talk - episode 1: Austin St John:

I can't embed on my phone but scroll to the 9:45 mark and ASJ talks about the pay dispute.

Saban is a great business man but the actors were treated very poorly.

Saban did the same thing on Beetleborgs. When the original jo got her SAG card she was shown the door.

Shorty looked in a mirror and was a different person. Like Drew had to go home and tell his mom that his sister looks like a different person :lol

Flabber explaining that she would look like the old jo to everyone else except them. Saban basically used the old family matters cast change playbook.
