Havent seen many players make the game look as easy as T- Mac did

He did not have the same complete game like Kobe where Kobe could shut guys down on defense. T-Mac has never been known as a defensive player.

Also offensively Kobe's post up game, mid range game are better than T-Mac's.
And were talking about a guy who could never lead any of his teams out of the 1st round.

respectfully,
I thought Tracy covered alot of ground in the time he was in the L to reach that elite level KB and AI were at (ESPECIALLY playing behind vince's shadow for a bit)....t-mac peaked for w/e reason, AI's body gave out and Kobe is still climbing.

Tracy was probably the most athletic out the bunch though, including vince. Supposedly son never really practiced (at all)

At his best, him and Kobe were 1a, 1b possibly for a season or 2.....tracy wasnt really a winner like that though

He was/is a very special player though, generational type.

He was great in his prime, but let's not run out. Kobe has done it for well over a decade. That separates from him guys who light it up for the length of a contract.

Kobe and tmac are apples and oranges
Kobe had great talent coming out of HS. he wanted to be the best and worked everyday.  he has success do to that work.

Tmac had great talent coming out of HS. he did nothing to improve his game and dominated of pure given talent.  and he has nothing to show for his career.

Theres a reason why kobe has so much success and tmac doesnt. kobe love the adversity and wants to put people away, tmac just asks to be traded.

Kobe is one of the games all time greats.  tmac, just a another player that came and went. they could have been in 10 finals straight togehter, you guys know kobe would have taken at least 9.

can we please never this discussion again?

That's such a ridiculous statement, guy was also an excellent passer and was a solid rebounder, shot from anywhere on the court.... he was right behind Kobe.

Guy was an absolute monster on the court, and elevated his game even further in the playoffs....too bad the rest of his team mates did not.

It tickles me that People just make it seem like  TMac just shrank in the playoffs just b/c his bum !@* squads couldnt get over the hump

damn

my favorite player growing up. If healthy, I'm confident he could've won a couple more scoring titles, an MVP or 2...possibly some rings.

All I know is someone better make a gif out of LeBron eating BBQ after T-Mac's dunk on Detroit.

When was that when Lebron was watching T-mac when he was on the Orlando???????

When the talent was finally put around him he quit on the team and sabotaged a trade on national tv though.

Who he's played with shouldn't be an excuse, he just couldn't get it done. Moreso during the Rocket years.

you know how hard it was watching those rockets teams with the likes of bob sura, david wesley, jon barry, mike james, reece gaines, ryan bowen, scott padgett etc etc? tmac and yao carried that team. would have liked to see them get out of the first round though.

^^and nah, they hardly ever put talent around him. the big acquisition for that 3rd player was trading the draft rights of rudy gay away for shane battier. when they lost to the mavs by 40 in game 7, i think tmac and yao had maybe 60 of the teams 70 something points. disgraceful

2 top 15 guys on a team and they can't get out of the 1st round? Are you kidding me?

It's way harder watching now than it was in 2005. That's the same team that went up 2-0 against the Mavs and had a double digit lead in the 2nd half of game 3.

The same team that lost a game 7 at home in 07.

As I always said we may have lost to better teams but it was never because of some major talent differential lots of folks like to say it was. We just weren't good enough, TMac just wasn't good enough.

Kobe was A LOT more healthy then T-Mac over their careers so he is able have more success. i admit when Tracy was in the playoffs and couldn't get out of the first round it was bad. imagine if he was actually healthy in Houston and they got a legit roster? also if Kobe and T-Mac went to 10 finals Kobe would not have 9/10 belieeeee dat
