Mass Shooting Thread: Waiting on the next one.

This latest incident got people picking the dumbest, most inconsequential hills to die on. I guess this has gone on so long without any progress that at this point people are running out of **** to talk about.
I mean we can only do the gun control argument but so many times. This thread isn't as bad, in terms of repetition of the same argument, vs. previous school shooting threads.

I was fully expecting the same old arguments in here.

But yea, it is a tired discussion. What more can be said at this point

And the VAST majority are students aren't getting shot up.

To say it is SAFER to be a soldier, simply based on FATALITIES, is completely disrespecting and disregarding all othet measures of SAFETY.

If that is the only measurement being used, it serves nothing more than being a headline.

Safety can't just be measured by DEATHS especially when comparing two unlike settings.

Again, sensationalism
Again, look at their statistic presented. They’re correct. I also like how it’s forgotten that people SIGN UP for the military knowing the risk down to the point where they knowing choose their job. Students DO NOT sign up to go to school with dumb *** people with dumb *** enabiling parents

Ok # of soldiers that die in duty= As many as their superiors instruct. They joined knowing the risk

Ok # of student getting killed while sitting in class = ZERO

No such thing as sensationalizing a row of 20 5-6 year olds getting gunned down like a damn video game.

Again, to call being a soldier SAFER than being a student is manipulating numbers to reflect an argumentative claim.

I am not refuting the legitimacy of more students dying than soldiers dying but to take THAT data and make the claim that soldiers are SAFER than students is a very poor argument.

Soldiers less likely to die, If the numbers day that, I can't argue that.

Man everything don’t deserve an argument. Get a damn life dude that contrarian ******** ran it’s course years ago

This. Idk why people keep making new threads for this crap anyways. Make a mass shooting thread and keep it moving. Y'all know what it is already. This is America. Nothing more to say.

Then you have no argument to behind with other than you personally thinking it’s not that bad

This HAS been suggested but folks in here have said it was Disrespectful to the victims to group together

I see both sides

OH NOW I SEE! If it's someone rich and important, then the guns are seen as a threat and also seen as the killing machine that they are. But for everyday nobody's, people's rights are still in tact and and who cares if a poor nobody gets killed?

It is a conference/convention. Show me any conference or convention that guns are allowed in.

I understand being anti-NRA but in THIS inatance it isn't logical to trip over that.

But that is a minor point, we don't have to dwell on it

No that is an excellent point. According to the nra, the guns aren't the problem, uneducated people with mental illnesses are the problem. So if this is a room full of your own, and everyone is trained and no one is mentally ill why not allow your beloved firearms around the prezzy?

It’s like a McDonald’s convention banning their own food becuase it’s unhealthy. NRA **** can’t even stand behind their own products and ideology. Puts their whole stance into perspective.

Great analogy. Honestly banning cigarettes at a cigarette convention makes more sense than banning guns at a gun convention. The smoke could get dense and and foggy, blocking the speaker. As long as no 'bad guys' come into the nra convention, then what's the problem. Everyone will just sit their peacefully with their beloved baby tucked in the holster. God PLEASE let someone bring this question up to a high ranking nra member during a public event. LORD PLEASE let this happen.

I'm beginning to look at it as population control. If guns aren't the problem then why are there any gun free zones? Man, I'm telling you, they want what's happening to happen.

The article you’re basing your claim on literally has this in it

Statistics is a slippery slope, there’s a saying: “there’s lies, there’s damn lies, and there’s statistics.”

You have to question the statistics provided in every case. Also, if you’ve never served or known anyone who’s served please don’t make statements like that; I would also have to disagree with you on that.

Man it's almost like the white media has a running joke with this same ol "he was quiet sweet boy, we're shocked".

It's like they're ok with these killings as long as they can paint the white terrorist as a good kid that just snapped one day.

Puts them at ease/absolves them of responsibility because there was nothing we could do

1. Don’t think you read anything we’ve all said

2. I know plenty of people who’ve “served” including family. “Serve” isn’t even the correct word. You gamble 5-6 years of your life minimum hoping nothing happens for a life time of benefits. While in you take advantage of the system as much you can till you get out. That’s how that system works. That “honor” BS is for the movies. It’s a job. Sit down.

Thank you for showing all of us how much of a piece of **** you are and how little integrity you might have

I can see your point about the Military. Maybe a select few join for the sake of honor/pride/patriotism, but everyone that EYE personally joined did so because they had no better option in life.

So there is some truth to what was said.
