nah, I came in this with an open-mind and really got my interest in the first few episode but it went downhill from there
Finns acting just didn't work, his line delivery was almost the same throughout and it didn't help that they made the character so whiny
fighting definitely got better but it was still not very good for the most part
some of the liberties they took on this show felt very Fox/Singer-ish,
-we want to see KunLun, they show no signs of it
-we want kungfu action with ninjas and we get corporate hand instead
-we want more IronFist the Immortal Weapon and we see Danny being Stark in IM3
-we want to see the costume and we get some janky-a** chest tatoo (and they could learn from WBTV and get someone who is actually ripped
)
I get not feeling Finn. I'm fine with him but if you not you just not.
If this was Shang-Chi I would get the want of more action but it's not. Its Iron Fist, the corporate world comes with dude being a billionaire. Its baked in from his origins. Plus any kung fu action with him are with other warriors from the 7 heavenly cities not ninjas. They mad that whole sworn enemy of the Hand **** up just cuz Netflix wanted this to Be a tighter shared universe. Now maybe it's not a story everyone would love but you can't be surprised or disappointed when that gets focus.
I honestly didn't know "we" as Ted to see K'un L'un. I know what that place looks like. Nothing special. At best it would be depicted like it's still stuck in the past. So the entire look would be like a period piece.
The costume complaint is straight bull ****. DD didn't put on his costume until the end of s1 and it didn't look good in the face. LC doesn't even do his costume, they made his character in to the average Joe fight in w/e attire. IF does not have some iconic must see costume. Dude is Street Fighter/Mortal Kombat adjacent at best.
What gets me is his costume is gonna end up looking no better than what the 1940s IF had on in that old video.
good, that's the costume everyone wants to see, in any costume
hell he could have had the same black bandana DD had in S1 and speaking of that...
they gave DD a costume and the whole all black hooded look was a nod to the books and in the end we see him in actual costume
with Luke we got to see a classic nod to his gear with the tiara and they somewhat gave him his classic look with the regular yellow tee which he rocks with
If we going this route with you making excuses for why you aint complain about DD or LC, I can easily say they showed the old IF to nod to the comics and what's to come.
but you focused on what we wanted to see and that was a suggestion, there are far more complaints about the show besides those points
No. I didn't choose to do on anything. I didn't say I was giving reasons or countering every complaint. I quoted your post with those specific complaints I took issue with. The costume stuff, the we wanted to see K'un L'un, the complaint about the corporate world being focused on when that's half of the character's status quo.
and you can't be giving the excuse that just cuz the village is going to look old school so they didn't give us that and that action is limited to heavenly cities so they didn't use ninjas in the show, come on now
No that's not my excuse. That's a fact. I have no doubt we'll eventually go to K'un L'un and see it. I'm saying there's nothing important to see. This aint Wakanda (unless they choose to vastly change everything and amp it up).
I really didn't come in to this thinking oh can't wait to see Danny in K'un L'un training with the Thunderer.
You look at the comics, K'un L'un might as well be anywhere in southeast Asia circa the 17th century.
if you're going to give those type of reasons or pass to this show as "writers decided to do this" then you can do that to any movies/shows other don't like
I'm not sure what you're referring to here. I never replied with writers decided finding his and that's the end of discussion.
you just can't say "if this was so and so then there's be more action" like IF isn't tied to kungfu and action and why we get no ninjas going against him
Yes I can. I'm not even making it up. Shang Chi in a series would be filled with a bunch of kung fu action. You specifically complained about the corporate world focus as if that's not a part of the character's world. That's the whole catch with Danny Rand. A man caught between two worlds.
Complaining about the corporate world focus would be like complaining why weren't there more armors in the first Iron Man what was with all that business stuff with Stane and Pepper? It just reads ridiculous.
and yes why can't I be disappointed with the parts they chose to focus on?
Cuz when it's a part of the character's makeup it's stupid.
Would you complain about the doctor/hospital parts in Dr. Strange cuz he use to be a surgeon?
Would you complain about focus on Peter being in HS instead of him fighting crime 24/7?
Did you complain about the focus on Murdoch's cases and being a lawyer in DD?
It really seems some came in to this with their own expectations based on little or no prior info about IF and then got mad when they didn't get what they thought.
If anything, Marvel actually brought back the dual identity thing that was so popular in the comics when secret idenetites mattered especially since it doesn't in the MCU. They gave us Danny as IF dealing with Hand **** and the triad and then they gave us Danny Rand the dude trying to do good as a businessman.
And again please somebody at least peel his origins. Danny has to deal with the corporate world cuz I'm the comics he's straight up seeking revenge on Harold Meachum cuz he knows he left his parents to die. So there's no avoiding something so integral to the character's essence.
other studios doesn't get that benefit of a doubt, you can't tell me that we can't be mad because Fox decided to focus on Mystique as a mutant savior just because it isn't a story we love or expected
Well first off those other studios suck donkey balls.
Second off look at the poor comparison you're making. Mystique as a mutant savior or ******* stupid mutant Harriet Tubman does not exist anywhere but in Singer's and Kinberg's heads.
You're comparing that to Danny Rand trying to live up to his father's legacy by re-entering the family business and dealing with issues regarding Rand enterprises (nevermind that the Hand been infiltrated Rand so the two were tied together from the jump) THAT HAS ALWAYS BEEN A PART OF IRON FIST COMICS.
It doesn't make sense.
