March Wrestling Thread/April Thread will be up on the second /WM Week

Ima throw this hot take out there:

BJ stepped his game up in New Japan because he had to. People were there to see Tana, Okada, and Swags at that time. THEY were the draws, and AJ had to elevate his game. This is no indictment of his talent, i think its pretty much a well known fact dude was always amazingly athletic but he was dog**** character wise.
He wrestled the top talent in that promotion at points where they were all booked amazingly well and strong and he stepped up each time because he had no other goddamn choice. That WK9 match was just as much if not MORE Swagsuke because of who he was and is.

no one can say they signed this cat based off one match with AJ. Lets be ****ing real.

Nah you just mad Drew.

Nakamura does too, they have tinkered with their new toy too much and thus caused him to become a Jay white level facsimile of who he was.

Fwiw AJ’s last run in TNA as “The Lone Wolf” was pretty great. It was a step in the right direction character wise even though he didn’t say ****.

Easy brother. Let’s not disrespect the Lion of India while we’re at it. :emoji_handshake:

Wasn't that basically the og Sting/NWO stqarrcade build but just with AJ wrestling

AJ's Lone Wolf charactrer in TNA is how Baron Corbin's character should be. Instead, Corbin is like a super unintimidating high school bully

hell yeah I'm pissed they are wasting talent like Nakamura. Everyone else sees it that knows whats up. JR, Stone Cold, Jericho, All of them have stated that the dude is floundering due in part to weak *** booking and their castration of his style

Watch his matches with dudes that jave worked Puro before, yall mogs are always saying "thats better work", no ****, they were able to go. You dont think lowkey the dudes in ring are calling for harder spots with him because they KNOW what he is capable of to have an amazing match?

its not like i aint watch dude for like a decade or anything.

Not even the wack *** Bucks are as lame as Stiff Limbs

I forgive your misguided hatred brother, and fortunately for you so does the MAHARRRRRAJAH.

Na I'm with you. Just being sarcastic because of the logic in here today

While I'm still not a fan of there shtick and the "Superkick Party" nonsens, I will admit that the Young Bucks are very good in the ring.

Their matches with Roppongi 3K won we over.

This might have been asked in here already but is anybody here in or near the DC area going to NXT at The Anthem on Thursday 4/19. @dcallamerican where you at champ??

stirring up a solid cauldron today, boyo.

drewdioxin2345 drewdioxin2345 's brother speaking with his whole chest.

Can front I'm becoming a Jay White fan.

It just gets old witht he same old "he no speaka engrish" go back to Japan, dudea corny ********.

I get it, if someone wasnt privy to alot of these dudes before they got put into the awful Vince Mcmahon academy for deconstructing talent, they are gonna look at it as something that is "other" and treat it immediately from jump street. BUT we have all proven time and again as a thread that we are quick to put someone into WHY were personally attached to said individual in some way shape or form.

I can rattle off match after match and hell, they may watch them. But NTWT has that awful "but this is now" mentality instead of seeing the bigger picture and potentiality for better things in guys like Swags, Almas, ****, the majority of 205.

You know the underlining theme here: most are dealing with the restraint of their styles that they have worked the majority of their careers and thus the product suffers in tandem with forced Mic work because WWE style wrestling is far more story based than performance based in the case of Almas and the Japanese performers.

It is systemic and hopefully its ******* gone when Haitch has control.

Michael Cole on NXT in a recent interview-

"I'm really big on the Iconic Duo of Billie [Kay] and Peyton [Royce]. They are on the cusp of something really great. They have developed quite the team; quite the 'gimmick' to use an old-school wrestlers term. I really think they are talented and I think there is going to be a place for them," Cole said. "Ember Moon is another one who I really think is going to be a player as part of the Women's Evolution on the big roster, and I really have been impressed with the NXT Champion, Andrade 'Cien' Almas; he really has taken his game to a different level. His viciousness, his aggressiveness, he's really going to be a player, too. Finally, Aleister Black; I've followed his career for a decade now. I was so glad when we announced last year that he was going to be part of our programming. He is a guy who I really believe is going to take this brand to another level."

Cole also mentioned an under-the-radar superstar who is on the cusp of emerging as a top superstar. He had very high praise for The Velveteen Dream, who he believes has what it takes to be a cornerstone superstar for the company for the foreseeable future. He said he admires The Velveteen Dream for completely immersing himself into his character.

"I'll tell you a sleeper in all of this, who I believe is going to develop into a big star, he's got star written all over him - The Velveteen Dream. This kid has everything. He's young, good looking, he's got incredible charisma. He's a hard worker, great work ethic," he said. "He has a very unique character, and he lives and breaths that character. A lot of times, in this day and age, that's become a lost art. When the cameras are off and you are living the rest of your life, but he is that character, and lives it 24/7, so that is what I think makes him a real up and comer, and a star in the making the next couple of years."

Really wish Haitch would take over rn so that we could get UK Tournament Cole permanently.

He's fantastic when he doesn't have Vince in his ear. Really knocks it out of the park
