This would either work out really well bad or really worse than bad.
Fixed.
doubting Steph for no reason. Its not like he had a real chance at playing in NY

he can still put up numbers; he knows whats expected of him irregardless of his attitude. He and KG were rookies basically , thats why it didn't reallywork out the first time.

They'd sign him to be behind Rondo and before Eddie House i guess.. i think if the Celts sign him, he'll cooperate. He'll be tryna prove every onewrong for wrongfully sitting him.

Hmm...

Even with all the praising i've done of Marbury sticking it to the Knicks, I dont think this is a good idea...

I guess its worth a shot. We dont have a realy backup PG other than Eddie. I cant see him trying to pull anything with KG/Pierce/Ray/Cassell as the veterananchors. We've already seen this season Pierce keep Allen and Rondo in check after a messed up string of plays when they were going at each other, so Icant see them letting an outsider with a history come in and screw things up.

It would be interesting to say the least.

Once again if this happens i'm going to MSG and kicking someone square in the face. I don't think ya'll understand how good of a player marburystill is

doubting Steph for no reason
I think there are plenty of reasons to doubt him.

Yes he did, maybe not this year but he's had plenty of chances throughout his career.

he can still put up numbers
He's always been able to put up numbers and look where it's gotten him. The Celtics win with defense and team chemistry, not gaudynumbers.

he knows whats expected of him irregardless of his attitude
I'll believe it when I see it.

All of that being said though, if this deal really does go down I'm gonna try to talk myself into it and I really hope I'll be eating crow in June.

Say if he behaves, gets along with KG and everyone on the team, be a solid contributor and the Celts repeat, you KNOW he's a ticking time bomb so sooner orlater he is going to disrupt that chemistry and become an immense distraction.

Worse yet, let's say the Celts lose a couple of reserves in the offseason (don't know their contract situation) and Stephon Marbury becomes just a bitmore useful to the team because he knows the system, do you keep him and take the risk or do you start over? Why even put yourself in that situation?

Or, if the Celts play it smart, have the mindset of having him as a loaner for the season ONLY, he STILL hampers the Celts' ability to perhaps sign ortrade for someone who may be of value to them since the trade deadline is only 45-60 days away. Basically, you only have that long of a window to evaluate hisperformance and it'll be very risky at best. Remember, he still needs to negotiate a buy-out, clear the waiver (maybe not), and sign the new contract andthat 45-60 day window may really be 30-45 days and counting.

It'll be interesting to see what the Celts do but unless they're signing Marbury in order to trade him to somebody else, I'd say they're betteroff looking elsewhere.

At the same time, I'm praying the Celts will take him away from us

watch the immediate beginning of the downfall of this current squad if marbury joins.

You think Ainge is going to bring him in, knowing how he's portrayed in the media and his past antics, with KG already on the team as the"leader", without getting the okay from DR, PP, KG, and Ray? ... you must be kidding.

Believe that, the Celtics can still win it all again this year WITHOUT Marbury... so they won't bring him in unless they know something WE don't.

Like juschiang mentioned, I think this could work out if it's only for this one season. I wouldn't resign him win lose or draw. But I'd do it.

Please do it. As a Lakers fan, I'm praying for this to happen.

its going to make them worse.
Marbury needs to play on a bad team to be the star.
him + 3 stars=failure

interesting...

if it happens, it will work

the whole is truly greater that the sum of its parts in boston, there's no player that can shake that i don't think

Steph is fine. He's a grown man who wants to win. Celts will be fine too, more depth off the bench.

It's a classic win/ win.
