Without doing the math, and not even sure what the market for Butler would be, but if we could land #1-2 and get Ingram

And still cap to sign another player or two of value. Thin bench tho, but this is the type of "upgrade" they'd need to be both viable on defense and have enough offense to make it work.

Leftovers would be Huertas, Brown, Black, if we could keep #32 (might have to be part of deal) maybe Bass stays another year? If our other signee was someone like Batum, or DeRozan, you could slide Ingram to the bench while he learns, etc.


But, all that said, I don't see a deal like this happening. We couldn't get anything out of them for Pau, they aren't going to just give us Butler. And I don't know if they value Randle/Clarkson/Lou as close enough value. I think they'd want more, and I wouldn't give up another top pick, be it DLo or this year's.

Yea, one of the 2 sides is going to have to make a concession to either giving up too much or resigning to not getting "enough"

I think a Laker package is about the best they are going to get if they are trying to blow it up and rebuild with youth but the package that Boston would give is not any good IMO

If they want to do a partial rebuild and still compete maybeeee the Kings would answer the call for DMC I'm interested to see if like the Wizards would give up Beal (who is also oft-injured) or Clippers (Griffin) which I highly doubt.

Honestly it depends on the fallout, since he hasn't given a plausible explanation people are going to draw their town conclusions. If it leads to the subsequent break up of Iggy and Nick, it looks worse. Others in the NBA and sports fraternity have already expressed their fellings in it, he'll be a pariah for a while. Just getting buckets isn't going to erase this.

If he wants to be mad at D'Angelo.. That's fine, he's well within his right.. I won't argue the morality part of it because that would change this from black and white. Just say if he wants to mad at Russell, that's fine.

But he keeps going to social media. He keeps tweeting stuff.. Then he keeps deleting things. Acting like nobody is going to see it.

I mean come on man, social media has ruined your friendship, perhaps your engagement, and will get you booted off your childhood team. Why the hell are you still going back to social media to air things out?

Two things I've heard today....
1. First Take referring to Russell & Nick as kids.. Both are adults, but you can make a case that 20 years old is still a kid. He wouldn't have been halfway through college.. Nonetheless, he should know better.. But people make mistakes., especially at that age. Dumb mistakes

Nick is 30 years old. Been in the league for years. How stupid do you have to be to keep going back to social media.


2. Stugotz made a great point on the Dan LeBatard show... And that's rare. He was piggybacking of LeBatard saying everything that happened in this entire story is immaturity.. But how ironic is it that in the aftermath, the most mature guy is the one who screwed up and faced it.

Never said it would be erased.

But it wont be discussed on a nightly basis if the Lakers find ways to win more games next season, or just improve in general (which wont be hard to do).

5 years from now he'll be called a rat, just like 5 years later Kobe was still called a cheater and a you know what.
