I'm thinking what he's saying and what I can mostly agree with...

Of course it would suck if we lost our pick. No one wants to actually lose it.

BUT it would not be the end of the world if we did.

We have 2-3 guys who could start for a long time. At least 1 of them will be a Multiple Time All Star. And 2-3 really quality bench players.

Whereas in comparison if we lost the pick last year. We'd be losing it in a deep draft, and have a lot more uncertainty. And not enough cap to fill needs even with cap increases.

Whereas now if we lose the pick, we could still recover over the short term. And regroup adding a late lottery pick in 2017 assuming the unexpected doesn't happen.

He's not saying it'd be good to lose it. He's saying it isn't the death nail on the coffin that last year losing it would have been.

The only thing that is more frustrating about losing the pick if it happens this year is that we had to put up with that miserable, horrible, ridiculous doofus Byron Scott as coach.

I don't want this season to "go to waste" but let's be honest it was gonna happen regardless especially with Byron coaching.

I would of been heartbroken to lose it last year, as we all would have been, so this year to me is a "bonus" if we get to keep it.

Plus side of if we lose it is the 2017 draft looks to be way deeper.

There will be more than 2 players. Yes, it's easier to simplify it down to 2 "elite" players, but that doesn't explain Kobe and Nash and JO in 1996. (or even Fisher if you want to get deep into it)
Or the 2011 draft that was "only" Kyrie, only.....Klay Kawhi, Jimmy Butler, Vucevic, Tobias, Chandler Parsons all came outta that draft.

Or the 2014 Draft that was DEEP and had Wiggins, and Randle, and AG, and Jabari, but hey, Jordan Clarkson came at FORTY SIX.

And 2015 was only supposed to be KAT and Oak, but then, DLo came, and Booker, and Myles Turner, and Porzingis, etc etc

You fools keep saying 2 player draft, and it's beyond stupid to be that narrow minded. Jaylen Brown, Kris Dunn, Jakob Poeltl, Buddy, Skal, Jamal Murray, Sabonis ( ) so many guys that where they go will depend on how they'll do.

Nobody knew what Rudy Gobert would do, or Greak Freak, or Kawhi, or Kris Middelton, or any of the guys I've named.

But to top it all off, you drop "the knowledge" that the 2017 NBA draft looks deeper, even tho those kids are mostly still in High School. You don't know jack ******* **** what the 2017 draft looks like, you don't even know what the 2016 draft looks like, so stop wasting our time with that mess.

Whoever we draft, 1-2-3 or 32, WE help them become what they can be. Kobe got the shine in 96, and rightly so, but Derek Fisher put together one helluva career workin for us. Clarkson, Nance, both look to be usable parts in the future. Divac, Elden Campbell, Nick Van Exel, all late picks, all developed by us. We draft them, we coach them, we teach them how to play this game. As long as they work, and work hard, they'll get somewhere.


So stop. Just stop with this 2 player narrative. And if you are going to use it, then stop telling us what the ******* 2017 Draft looks like, or the 2018, or hey, 2020 looks real promising I hear.

It has been a very relaxing year in here for the most part. These last 14-15 games must have people nervous or somethin, soft preppin themselves for let downs or some nonsense.

We got this pick, and we're gonna nail 32 as well, and then we just need to add 1-2-3 decent free agents, and get back in the mix of the playoffs, and let these kids taste that ****, and then get real hungry as they turn 20-21-22-23-24. That's when the results will start to roll in.

I was really impressed how they brought in every player under the sun last summer, even dudes that weren't gonna sniff the draft. That's a great way to gauge talent and it paid dividends.

You win 15 games all damn year, you get a prize, a nice, top of the draft, prize. To not get that prize is beyond damaging. Fold our franchise? No of course not, but to give up the #4 pick in the draft, in a year we win 14-15-16 games, for STEVE NASH IN 2012, when we're tryin to build around other young talent, YES, THAT ******* HURTS THE FRANCHISE.

I don't like a lot of the moves Mitch has or hasn't made, same for Jim, but when it comes to scouting, just scouting young talent, they absolutely do great work.

32 may not be Draymond level, but they will definitely find an NBA level 7-8-9 man in a rotation that can help us get to where we wanna be. Same as Famar, Sasha, Shannon all did during our last run.

Or the sneaky trades for Horry, Fox, picks of Kobe-Fisher, late lotta find like Bynum, trade for a young Ariza.

They absolutely eval young talent properly.
