It's hard to believe these quotes are real at this point.

Poor defensive effort, Byron.
But as soon as Kobe is in the sentence, it's different. Dude runs things, through stares that have now been turned into famous gifs, through calculated words in interviews, through his play (like taking 0 FGA in the second half of a playoff game against the Suns because Phil suggested he was shooting too much. )
Nobody's telling him how much to play. He's telling them. His usage is determined by him.
