Saw the LV for the first time recently at a local event, told the sales person they need to drop that F series engine in the RX and quit playing, V8 or better. We shall see

I kinda wish i wouldve went with the blue/grey/atomic silver over white.

White with red is just a clean look though i cant be mad

Ultra White is a great color. I had the red interior on my ‘14 IS, so I wanted something different. They had an Ultra white/Red at my dealership, but it had the new 5 spoke F Sport wheels that I wasn’t a fan of.

If I could build my own, I would likely do an Atomic Silver or Ultrasonic Blue with the Flaxen interior.

damn, all if not most sedans gon' be extinct sooner than later...

Lexus IS And GS Could Be On The Chopping Block

Ford made waves earlier this year when it announced plans to eliminate a number of sedans but it’s far from the only automaker considering limiting their passenger car lineup in the face of increasing demand for crossovers.

While Lexus isn’t eliminating sedans altogether, it appears that it could phase out the IS and GS. Rumors about the GS’ demise are nothing new and Lexus’ North American group vice president and general manager, David Christ, declined to confirm reports that the model is going away. However, he did tell Automotive News the company is taking a “strategic look” at both the IS and GS.

The IS is now in its third-generation and the latest version of the sedan was introduced at the North American International Auto Show in 2012. The model is currently Lexus’ most affordable sedan, in the United States, as pricing starts at $38,210. Unfortunately, its appeal is limited as the more practical NX crossover starts at $36,185 and the larger ES sedan is just $740 more expensive.

The high pricing and unpopular body style are working against the IS as Carsalesbase data shows the company only managed to sell 26,482 units in the United States last year. This is a drastic decline from the 51,358 models that were sold back in 2014.

The Lexus GS is in a similar situation even though its $46,310 base price significantly undercuts key rivals such as the Audi A6 ($49,700), BMW 5-Series ($52,650) and Mercedes E-Class ($52,950). According to Carsalesbase, the company only sold 7,773 GS models in America last year and this is a significant decline from the 23,117 units sold just two years earlier.

GS sales could decline even further as the 2019 ES is larger, comes with more standard horsepower and should be significantly more affordable. Rumors have also suggested the ES could eventually be offered with all-wheel drive and this would eliminate one of the GS’ main advantages.

It remains unclear whether or not the models will be dropped but Christ said “We’re certainly evaluating both vehicles.”

Didn't know the GS sold so little. I definitely see more new model ES on the road compared to the GS. Its typically a 2nd Gen GS if I see one.

The ES can definitely stay if they're going to implement an AWD option. The should still keep the IS for compact sedan purposes. Not everyone wants a crossover.

It looks like the OG Toyota Century. They'd have to market the HELL out if to sell in the states.

For the price, folks will probably just stick to their current luxury brand of choice. Wanna see that VIP'd out though.

it would be nice if they could cut back on some of the luxury and tech and maybe compete with the Genesis G90?

i was going to say Kia K900 but i think that's a bit too cheap in price to compete with

Lexus resale value is RIDICULOUS. I'm looking at options to get something new for my bday and all the Lexus' on CarMax are in the high 20's and 30's. In terms of the luxury segment it's by far the highest compared to the BMWs and Audi's. I want a RC 350 but I'm not sure how feasible that is with a six year old

05 IS still puttn in work. talked my cousin into getting 2015 Is when they released. im thinking about going for a f sport. but also love the LS.

Early 90’s LS’s still going for some stacks...but an 04 Monte Carlo like $900  ...Lexus brand strong ! :pimp:

Thinking of leasing a Lexus once I finish paying off my civic. Always wanted the IS300, then the 250.

If you got a kid, the RC is not the way to go. There is next to nothing in terms of space in the back. In my RC, the seat is as far as I can have it forward and I have about 2-3 inches of space between my seat and the back seat.
