Knowing what you know now, you wouldn't have traded for Deron instead of Melo? I would have. Regardless its irrelevant guess I shouldn't have brought it up.Originally Posted by UPPTEMPO8387
The Nets wanted Melo..They were just smart enough to have a backup plan if the trade fell through. Let's not act like Deron made the Nets great though. Obviously the Nets don't have the talent of the Knicks roster, but it's not like he got there and added 10-15 wins to their season total. They're still many many games below .500 since Deron got there..His stats overshadow the failure of the team since he arrived.
In terms of this team being cursed, I wouldn't be surprised..It's the Patrick Ewing curse..Dude gave his heart n soul to the franchise and they couldn't just let him retire on his own terms..Instead our D-bag owner decided to send him to Seattle. It's like the Babe Ruth trade, except that Babe Ruth was traded when he was still good

Even not knowing what I know now, back then I still would have wanted Deron+Amar'e over Melo+Amar'e..Deron likes to set people up, and Amar'e likes to be set up in terms of scoring. And if Dwight really wanted to play with Deron all along, he would have made it known and the Knicks wouldn't have signed Tyson and just waited on Dwight. However, Dolan is an idiot and he would have given the Jazz way more than the Nets gave up for Deron, and the team would have been just as bad as it is now.Originally Posted by CoupeIt88

However Deron Williams & Dwight Howard bring a whole other element to the Nets. I have no doubt they would work out. Top 3 PG and the best Center in the game is no joke, they will be good soon and great down the line.

Knowing Dolan he'd break contracts with every cable and dish network and Knicks games wouldn't even air in NYOriginally Posted by CoupeIt88
This is getting worse and worse, anyone think we're cursed? Is there any way we can start a petition for a new owner?

As far as the Nets playing us, they, like us did not know Utah would shop Deron. Some forget that Utah GM was always planning to contact the loser of the Melo sweepstakes. The Utah GM admits that and so did Donnie.
Dolan Advisor Pushing For Trade Of Anthony
Mar 14, 2012 1:15 AM EDT
At least one member of James Dolan's inner circle believes the Knicks should trade Carmelo Anthony for financial reasons.
MSG has seen a significant spike in ticket sales, ratings and merchandise since Jeremy Lin emerged in February.
The Knicks are 2-8 with Anthony back in the lineup.
According to a source, Dolan is not ready to give up on Anthony.
"He said he's not trading anyone," said the source, with direct contact with Dolan. "He said it's up to the coach to figure it out."
