Legit Check - DB 5 - Please Help

Seller on eBay is selling these DB 5 for $500. My only problem is that I can't tell if they are legit and neither can he tell me if they are. He says he bought them from a friend but says he can't guarantee authenticity. That usually makes me hesitant. Any help would be much appreciated.

Bought from a friend, selling for a friend, don't know authencity, etc all usually means there fake but the seller is doing anything he can not to mention it 99% of the time. If it sounds too good to be true then it usually is.

Kinda what i was thinking as well. Shoes just looked too good to be true. Also don't understand why he would put sole protectors on them if he didn't plan on wearing either. Welp thanks for your help.

These's are not authentic. Look at the tongue on the first picture. It practically has a mountain in the middle of the tongue.
