Yup totally agree. Lace lock is nice a nice look but for conventional purposes I never use them either.

I think these and the black/mango pair are lacking and seem lazy. A difference in color between the posite and upper could have done loads for this model

Yooo off topic but I had heard the KD elites would have that max-zoom setup like the LB Xs did, but in a semi-low cut? That looks like the ones I want purely out of a performance standpoint.

"Elite" has been a gimmick from day 1. If you're still trying to figure it out what makes it elite...., stop.

Co-sign with the interest in the performance of the kd. Low-cut, max zoom, flywire that actually looks functional, breathable mesh, could be a performance monster.
But if you've spent some time in the kd thread or saw less-than-flattering pics of those elites they look pretty horrible imo lol. Like someone in there said, they look really soggy lol. Like they fell in a pool or you walked home during a thunderstorm.

I wondered the same thing in regards to the Kobe, my thinking was maybe Nike knew Kobe would have a very limited amount of time on court due to this injury, and possibly miss the playoffs again, so they just decided to throw the Elite out there right off the bat? Just a thought.

That's the sample pair without the Lion Motif on the tongue, with the black laces, and blue below the tongue. I actually prefer the pair pictured yesterday which will be the release version.

I honestly hated that tounge haha. The only reason I even ball in XIs is because I pretty much trashed a pair of KP and they serve no other use now. I can't justify using a $200 basketball shoe as a pair of beaters or gym shoes. As soon as these elites make it to swoosh or the outlets, I'll hop right on it for ball.

I think they definitely look a lot wider and less narrow than the regular XI's and could've have been X low with all the fuse, is there even any posite on them at all?

I wish Nike would drop the big corny swoosh going across the middle of their current gen sneakers.
Kinda takes away from the design and identity of a shoe.
