Some thoughts:

D'Angelo Russell (19)
Julius Randle (21)
Robert Upshaw (21)
Larry Nance Jr. (22)
Jabari Brown (23)
Anthony Brown (23)
Vander Blue (23)
Jordan Clarkson (23)
Tarik Black (24)
Ryan Kelly (24)
Robert Sacre (26)
Nick Young (30)
Kobe Bryant (37)

-That's 13 players... Will have to cut 2-3. My vote in Vander Blue & Jabari Brown.. I like Brown as the 11th or 12th man, but need to get more out of our roster. Reason why not Sacre, we just can't afford to lose the front court depth, especially because Upshaw is very unknown.

-I wouldn't pair D'Angelo & Clarkson in the starting lineup together to begin with. Let Clarkson or Russell backup, and let them get minutes together later in the game. Part of the reason is the depth concerns that I think we have, especially if we go for LaMarcus Aldridge. Give Russell 16-18 minutes to run the offense, and give Clarkson 16-18 minutes to be the PG. And 10-12 minutes together.

-In terms of minutes... I'm not sure that Nance, A. Brown or Upshaw getting more than 10 minutes per game first year. Just isn't there for them, especially Brown with Russell & Clarkson who can play 1 or 2, more so Russell. Kobe being fluid between 2 & 3. Swaggy P being fluid between 2 & 3, better 3.

-Think we may end up going SF & Center by committee. I.e. we strike out on LaMarcus Aldridge, DeAndre Jordan, Marc Gasol.. And end up going for a $10mil guy at SG and move Kobe to the 3, combined with a $10mil guy at the 5. Or $10mil guy at the 3, and a $10mil guy at the 5. Those 2 guys end up becoming depth guys when we go into Free Agency in 2016.

Got the guy I wanted I'm happy pause

The thought of a Russell-Randle pick and roll bending the defense then passing to Clarkson for a secondary pick and roll or Brown open three. :hat

Video doesn't show Larry Nance's athleticism. Nor Robert Upshaw's ridiculous rim protection

Sons gonna have to get punched in the face once a day for that tweet

I fully admit I wanted Okafor but I'm ECSTATIC that we got Russ.

Showtime Lakers is on its way byke :hat

if steph didnt exist and DRuss starts the season with a bunch of highlight plays he could end up being an allstar starter

*Disclaimer: I'm assuming Upshaw is a lock to get a deal here. That would be about what he would get as an undrafted FA. If they wanted to sign him.

Kelly, Blue, J. Brown are the likely guys to get the axe to open up roster spots / cap space.

If we drop Kelly, Brown & Blue and we sign LMA to a max, we have about $4.4mil in cap space.

I fully believe in my heart we made the right choice passing on Oak for DR.

I hope we don't live to regret it, but man this season just got 100x more exciting and we haven't even hit FA season yet.

Money to spend
Exciting Young Talent
Kobes "last" season

Shall be an entertaining season of basketball fellas, unlike last year :lol :hat

D'ANGELOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Y'all should've heard me when the pick was announced. I was screaming and jumping all over the place.
So hyped. :hat

YOUNG D'ANGELOOOOO

If we drop Kelly, Brown & Blue and we sign LMA to a max, we have about $4.4mil in cap space. I'm wondering if he would be willing to leave a few mil on the table on a short 2 year deal, and recoup his money when cap explode to $109mil in order to bring Wes Matthews with him.

Wes wants $15mil. He likely gets $12mil max. But with injury concerns on ACL, has to drop to $10mil max.
Praying they get rid of Kelly and just pick up Upshaw. Kelly does nothing that great, and then we picked up Anthony Brown so he can replace any shooting Kelly would provide.

Pass on Wes, why spend 10 million on him? Historically 1 guy has come back from an achilles(Dominique), Kobe couldn't even come back from that.

Would prefer Deandre Jordan or Gasol over Lamarcus. Just don't think he's that great and he's 30. He'll age well but iono just don't get a great vibe.

If we get 1 of the big's (Jordan,Gasol,Lamarcus, Love) and waive Kelly Brown and Blue, how much could we offer Tobias?

Would KILL for one of the bigs and Tobias.

Same.. About $4.4mil.

No circumstance where we get Gasol or Jordan or Love and get anybody else significant. Because they won't leave money on the table. Maybe Gasol. But really unlikely.

And why in the world would you want Love at this point. Especially with no 5.

I'm not saying i want him, I'm just thinking the Lakers will go after him.

Robin Lopez and Tobias> Lamarcus

Tyson Chandler? Maybe he gives us a hometown discount?

I am so hyped. THE MAMBA FINALLY GOT AN ELITE PG AFTER ALL THESE YEARS! better late than never?

Stretching thin with Robin Lopez.

Trading Kelly.. Dumping Brown & Blue.

Signing Tobias.

Leaves us with about $8mil. Need to find $4mil elsewhere to get Lopez. Assuming Tobias is getting the max, and I assume you will have to to get him.

And before you suggest Nick Young and trading him. You'll have to take something back in terms of contract. So maybe you open up an extra mil or two at most. But with a much worse player.

Im just worried kobe gonna still shoot at a high volume and stunt the growth of these young guys

Kobe is very prideful

If we do get a free agent id prefer gasol but if not aldridge would do

No to love period.

Although hes probably the most likely to sign

As for the nance kobe tweet he musta really not thought he would make it to the nba saying that stuff

Same with clarkson

Eh I mean it'd only be for like 2 years. I'm just against maxing Lamarcus at age 30. But eh what do I know.

I think Harris has room to grow still.
