**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

Randle can go, next year will tell me everything I need to know about Russell.

BI got the same look from that alteration at the end of that game.

Them veneers must be hurting D'Lo's mouth. Can't eem be happy.

Pop feeling the magic wand too:

The Lakers have passed almost 30 more times per game since Lou Williams was traded. I talked to the team about it

I understand the complaints but Randle is way too talented and has shown too much just to get rid of him. If he makes the same type of leap next year as he did this year he'll make you look like a fool. You keep him and Nance together and pray that they rub off on each other. Nance becoming more aggressive and Randle doing more dirty work

Shout outs to Jose Calderon for navigating the tank in December when nearly all of us wanted wins.

Loving these moves

Now let's sign a D League guard and try to find a gem

I like the way Dlo is playing these last 2 games since the break. But with any player who gets the bulk of his points from the perimeter, it won't last. He needs to penetrate more. Even Tony Parker and Patty Mills got a few layups by breaking down the defense. I really want to see Dlo do that, ESPECIALLY when a 7 footer is on him.

He has a tendency to do a crossover and step back jumper whenever a big guards him rather than just blow by him. I think some of it has to do with his lack of speed, some if may be confidence, some if it is experience.

Hopefully, that will improve over time, especially with all these minutes he's going to get the rest of the season.

Excited to see this young core play a lot of minutes together for a couple months

A lot of it is spacing. No point in driving past your man if there's two defenders waiting on you. I've seen him shift enough people off the dribble to know he's capable of it

No point in driving? That's a new one; somebody should tell Westbrook that it's not like he's had to deal with bad spacing all season. Or the wide open opportunities it may provide if one was actually able to draw an extra defender via drive and kick or hell even just making the defense have to shift and scramble. No need for that.

Yea that went right over your head

:rollin :rollin :rollin
I was reading his post like, "bruh what?"

Agreed with your points on Randle leemelone. His rookie year I might've seen him pass 5 times. This year I've seen him pass maybe 100 times. Progress!!! Naw but forreal, JR went from never passing to now occasionally passing. He's always 1-2 seconds left on each pass tho, hopefully next year he makes a similar leap similar to the one he made last summer.

Nah it actually didn't. You're insinuating that the other personnel is making the defense not worry about the shooting. He still has not shown the ability to consistently get past his man without a screen. If that wasn't the case despite not having the dead eye shooting around him he'd be a far more effective player ie Westbrook with the bevy of non shooters he has at any given time.

Anywho, bartelstein is Hayward's agent for those who weren't aware. They are buttering him up by letting Jose go. He's also Nick Young's agent. What if I told you Nick young was integral to bringing in Gordon Hayward this summer?[emoji]129300[/emoji] Things are starting to fall in place when you take a closer look. I'm liking what this new regime is cooking up

The more I think about it I really do think magic and Rob can do a damn good job. They seem to really grasp the politics of the league. A lot of times I read some of these mega tank proposals that are completely devoid of any kind of humanity or ethics. A lot of you would legit trade a player to Afghanistan if it netted you a 3rd round pick. Again these are things that are much easier to do from a keyboard a la offering Kobe the vet minimum after he just died on the court with your logo on his chest.

If we had cut Nick young or traded him for a bag of nuts, what would his agent tell one of his clients that might be interested? Instead they gave him a chance to prove himself. If nothing else I'm confident that this new regime understands that type of asset building ie reputation. Just that much can take them far and it might pay off sooner than we all think

It makes 0 sense for Hayward to sign here.

No meeting will take place this offseason
