**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

Interesting that this seems to be a recurring problem, are they tuning him out?

This is why people hate lebron

We are 0-2 without him. Going down 4 to 7th in today’s western conference is a matter of losing 2 in a row. It’s not like we lost 8 straight and now we dropped 3 spots.

Also, with him, we were 2 and 4 over last 6 headed into Golden state so we were down trending anyways. Foh

Come on. This isn’t Brons fault lol. He can’t control what dumb people tweet and report.

The Cavs finished the 2017-18 regular season 1-2 with LeBron, and they finished the playoffs 0-4, also with him. Their form was crap, so it's only natural that they are currently the worst team in the league. It has nothing to do with LeBron missing.

Starting to think it’s our coaching staff fault. They arent coaching the players to their fullest potential especially in the shooting department.

I think the biggest flaw of this coaching staff is their inability to recognize and address weaknesses.

The lakers don’t have a designated shooting coach.
The offensive scheme in the half court is trash (bottom third in PPP in half court).
The rotations are trash
Players are often utilized in roles that don’t suit their style of play

Does Luke really think Miles Simon and Jesse Mermuys is some geniuses? The lakers need to hire a shooting coach who only works on shooting mechanics. They need to hire gifted offense minds to help with scheme (Mermuys is trash). They need to place a higher emphasis on data and start putting players in positions to succeed.

It’s inexcusable that Lakerfilmroom can diagnose issues with Lonzo’s finishing yet the lakers can’t or don’t know how to fix it. Or Cranjis knowing more on scheme than Luke.

I don’t mind if the lakers wanna keep Luke. But at the minimum they should kick out his Arizona homies and bring in actual basketball minds to help with the game plan, scheme, and shooting. I mean, why not?

I was sitting behind Rob last night and right after Lou hit that 55 footer asked him why they let Lou go and he said “Gotta ask the previous regime” and then he gave this sarcastic chuckle.

Nice guy... people were bothering him all night and he was totally cool about it.

But didn’t he trade Lou?

The old guys were already fired

Funny enough, the Lakers film room guy posts on LG. He mentioned that he was watching Wagner shoot around one day and the coaches were just rebounding and not really giving instructions even tho his form was all over the place. I was really kinda shocked to hear that. You would expect more of a hands on approach and emphasis on doing things right from a world class organization. He's also mentioned that D'lo was pretty much universally disliked by all the staff (he's a D'lo stan) so that helped me understand the trade better

Lou trade was right around when Magic was hired. But remember, Rob was hired a bit later

Lmao Jeanie had already fired Mitch/Jimmy and installed Magic to head operations when Lou got traded.

Great trade for the Lakers though.

I do remember a report about the Jazz and Lakers talking to each other about Lou when Mitch was running things. Also, remember people being mad Mitch didn’t pull the trigger on the deal. Think it was reported he was waiting for other deals to create a bidding war or what not. Who knows

Pelinka being GM will always be hilarious to me. Signing Kobe to that huge contract and then taking the dude’s job who gave that contract. Classic.

Yeah there were reports Mitch/Jimmy were sitting on several trade offers for Lou (I believe the Wizards were interested too).

Why are we talkin about the Lou Williams trade again? It was a great trade for us. We got a first-round pick from Houston end trading Williams allowed us to tank even further and get Lonzo.

That's really why I was asking... I forgot what the timeline was.

Later in the game Lebron came and sat directly in front of me.

He needs a new barber ASAP. Not due to the balding... but his taper in the back is in complete shambles no excuse for this:

Man you seen the barbers on HBOs the shop right? Some of them is white. And plus Lebron be talkin too damn much and movin that they is no way the Barber gon be precise with the cut lmao.

But man add butchered haircuts to the list why this coaching staff trash. Everybody on the squad haircuts is average. The guide line in Kuz fade so noticeable on TV. It was worse last year lmao.
