Gotta agree with you but honestly I am not even gonna formulate an opinion until the unveiling. I didn't like the 9's at all until I seen them at the press event last year. Even then I didn't like them too much but when I saw them in person I knew I had to get em.

Long story short just hold on and wait fellas.

For me these are f'ing awesome.  They look pretty basic but have like everything I want in a bball shoe.  Shoe looks LIGHT!!! and tight.  Im stoked

I really don't think there's going to be a Kobe X Hi-Top. I think that was special to last year because of his injury. It would be nice to see that, but from what I've seen, I don't think that shoe would work in a Hi-Top.

You might be absolutely right on that, but all of his shoes with Nike have been lows. He prefer to wear them it seems. At Adidas he was wearing mids, I'm just thinking that Highs are not going to happen this year.

Well, not all of them. 2K4, 2K5 and Kobes 1-3 were not low tops.

And the 9 Elites IMO achieved their goal, which was to be a super high top aesthetically with all the advantages of a low top performance wise (lightweight, flexible, low profile).

If Kobe didn't like them, he wouldn't be wearing them so much. He's worn the highs more than the lows this season.

All that being said, there is nothing so far to suggest that the 10s will come in a high version. If Nike can put all their efforts into some dope patterns and CWs for the lows that we've seen then I'm good with that.

NAH BRO. All Design & Development begins on Sneakers AT LEAST 18 Months ahead. The Elite's were going to be High regardless of his Injury.

The thing that I think confused people the most is that the ELITE dropped first, so therefore everyone considered that to be THEE Kobe 9 and anything after that to be alternate versions, when in actuality, the Hi-Top was supposed to be the "Alternate" version of the Low. Because of the injury, it threw the schedule off and the fact that the Lakers were most likely not going to make the Playoffs, made marketing throw a wrench in things and put the Elite out first to get the most mileage out of them as possible. 

I'm 95% Positive, that if he weren't injured last season, the Kobe 9 Flyknit Low would have been the first thing seen & worn (Christmas release) and the Elite's wouldn't have been put out until almost Playoff Time as Usually Scheduled with the others (KD, Bron's, etc).

So that upper has me pretty intrigued.  It looks really light and breathable...Not quite the same as the EM we saw on the 8 or the 9.  This could be the best kobe ever imo...at least for what I like.

Well I own the Beethoven's and Hyper Grape Kobe IX low tops so I'm aware the the IX came in a low top, but way more of those high top IX's came out. I meant that they keep the X's strictly low tops.

I'd prefer the mids espc on the ext side of things, IX ext mid was better than it's VIII black yots counterpart
