DAMN IT !

I appreciate this GREAT championship run.

But at the same time yeah I'm still hella SALTY over Game 1 of the Finals that year....

Because that was the only Laker game I went to @ Staples Center that season during that championship run. I spent $200 on a single upper 300 level seat, called in sick to work that day and drove up and watched the game by myself. I was 21 at the time and was working a help desk call center job at the time which I just HATED & didn't give a DAMN about the job. But then to see AI come into our house and kill us in the 4th & OT while seeing pour salt on the wounds by stepping over Ty Lue even had me

after the game and then hearing AI's press conference on the radio after the game saying "Well a whole lot of people just lost some serious $$$ tonight"

Shaq just straight up was gangsta & ABUSED Todd Mccullough, Matt Geigher, and Dikembe in that Finals.

Kobe did a excellent job and had a block party and stuck to him like glue guarding AI during that Finals

Kobe & Horry also hit some HUGE daggers in the middle 3 game's in Philly also.

i seriously wonder if they were committed, kobe didn't have the rape case and shaq was comitted to being in shape how many more titles they could've won.

in a perfect world, shaq stays in shape and is able to be dominant for 2-3 more seasons, kobe acts like a more ideal teammate at the time and doesn't mess with that girl in colordado.

kobe starts coming into his own and takes the next step and while shaq is still the #1 guy, kobes role increases more and eventually a smooth transition between shaq being the main guy to kobe being the main guy takes place, sorta like the kareem to magic passing of the torch in the 80's

still though, the spurs from 02-03 and on woulda been legit competition even to a laker team that was 100% healthy and focused, as would the pistons in 04 and 05.
