Dirk did more than just "catch him." Dirk racked AK across the arms/chest and followed through up toward the head and neck area. Granted Nowitzki was falling down, but I refuse to believe a well coordinated athlete couldn't ease up and not drag Kirilenko down like that.
Just another example of Nowitzki trying to shed his well earned "soft" profile. If I couldn't lead my team, I'd be frustrated too.
And as someone brought up earlier, it was a classless thing for Nowitzki not to at least check on Kirilenko. I've seen players offer high fives after much softer contact.
Have you watched any Mavericks games this year? He's carried the team most of the year.
He was trying to foul him, yes, that's all good and fine, but some of the things you guys are saying are ridiculous. He didn't do anything maliciously.I swear some of you guys just jump on dudes back just for the hell of it.
Dirk probably got a little bumped up on the play, he didn't see AK47 fall, he didn't see how bad it was, so how is he supposed to know? Dirk made ajumping-swipe at the ball, and on the way-down, he just tried to get contact on the ball, he missed, he got the deserved call.
But, with all that said, I won't be surprised if he gets suspended.
