Katt Williams Wants The Smoke, Goes In on Tiffany Haddish, Kevin Hart and Others on V-103

y’all gotta be realistic about what to expect with certain movies.

this obviously wasnt designed to be no thought provoking **** but someone gotta make the movies to get the kids to be quiet and chill out for the thanksgiving/christmas/family reunion functions. or something you and a biddie can blaze and halfway pay attention to without being lost in between smashing.

everything has its purpose. you got a house full of little under 8 year old cousins and **** and you gonna put on Malcolm X or Belly

i dont see why it has to be kevin or katt. kevin can be the mainstream goofy dude and katt should be making avant garde blaxploitation films with quentin tarantino spike lee or martin scorsese or some ****
Nah, **** all that, we can't have nuance

I have never watched a Kevin movie and expected something great or thought provoking but Night School is the definition of selling out for a check. You can make a comedy without selling out, that isn't one of them. Kevin Hart been selling out for years.

Remember when Eddie Murphy was getting killed for selling out by doing family movies? Kevin is 10000x worse.

seasoned vet seasoned vet Kevin Hart's movies are just some fodder you take a date out to see. Joints aren't deep or overly long and quickly forgotten - he knows exactly what he's doing.

that depends on the type you like to date

why on earth would anyone expect a comedy to be deep?

Bruh said he wanted a deep comedy :lol

Some people just cant sit back and relax. Kevin hart isnt as unfunny as some of yall want to be where it gets to this point of wanting a comedy to be deep :lol

i mean truman show is deep as it related to religion and especially as time went on and social media brought that to fruition...but its still a comedy. kevin definitely tryna run it up and not tryna do no hotep black power philosophical films rn  he lowkey said that on breakfast club few years agoz

For real? This is how we defending corny movies now? Nobody is expecting a comedy to be thought provoking. Is the joint funny or not? :lol

I get it, but imagine if he tried to do well. Hopefully that's his plan getting his production company off the ground.
At this point its clear K Hart is bag chasing, quality be damned but it happens to alotta entertainers...n they got a formula thats working very well from him, probly wont see him out of this pocket till his run is all the way exhausted

I'm amazed yall feel so strongly either way.

Entertainment is a grocery store.

Pick your isle, brand, flavor.

It's in the store.

No one is forcing you to like or watch Kevin Hart, like no one is forcing you to eat Wheaties when you want Frosted Flakes.

And Kevin chose his lane he didn't sell out, that's ridiculous.

nah man I've been told time and again in here Kev isnt funny, I'm starting to think comedy might be subjective
A lot of ppl going to see a movie doesn't mean he or the movie was funny.

Just means he did his job in getting ppl to see it.

Millions of ppl are not about that ask for a refund life.

If getting a refund was more easy there probably only be a couple dozen hundred+ million dollar movies.

Nah he’ll definitely do anything for a check. He’s driven by money not his love to be the best comic ever to grace a stage

to put it in perspective the only reason you dont think movies like dr doolittle or juwanna mann corny is because you were a kid during the time and prolly got good memories from the timeframe.

a 8-14 year old loves this **** and thinks its hilarious. and when im high yes some dumb slapstick comedy like kevin screaming and getting knocked across the room may get a chuckle for the same reason a ***** on my timeline screaming and getting knocked across the room would get a chuckle.

its different types of funny. physical or so corny/overdone its silly humor that kevin does.

and then katt williams illuminati party “is that two grown *** men kissinng” or dave chappelle “lets sprinkle some crack” thats so true or relatable or creative funny.

i prefer the chappelles and williams but you cant call movies like dr doolittle or juwanna mann or some other dumb comedy from before 2005 hilarious/classic bc you were a kid at the time. and then call they’re modern day equivalents are corny. they’re both corny bc its for kids. :lol

like the dudes who loved 90’s wrestling when they were 8 and then wonder why its trash 20 years later when they are 30....and its still made for 8 year olds

Y’all know how hard it is to get TWO black leads as blockbusters stars? :lol.

Kevin is doing this with Black Actors, Black Directors, Black production companies.

He’s the master of “flipping movies”. Give the man a $20 mil budget....he’ll make $150 mil on the return and turn it into a franchise.

People just love simple, low brow, quick, safe ****. There’s a lane for that. Nothing wrong wit it. It’s existed forever. Every acclaimed and successful white comedian in film history has existed in it. Kev exist in it...and provides representation, opportunity and some ownership. I can never hate on that.

North Philly and Compton with a black production company being stars, doing them. Think about that for a moment.

What made you think I had good memories of Dr do little and juwana man? I seen both them movies once and never felt like watching them again. I was watching Harlem Nights, Life and Friday growing up. To sum it up you're saying Kevin Hart is for kids so it's ok that his movies are corny and not funny?

I assumed you woulda been a kid at that time and liked those movies. when were you under 10

The movies you listed is adult rated r films man. :lol

y’all dont got NO goofy **** from y’alls childhood yall liked  y’all 2 cool for me.

i loved like mike and mike myers the cat in the hat and dumb **** like that.

and yes kevin hart is a family comedian who made his name flipping low budget low concept films into blockbusters that can only be achieved if families are going to your films and want to see them on netflix. so i recognize he aint really for me as a 20 something. chappelle and williams cant sell a family movie and hart seems like he cant do real ***** comedy that deals with politics and the black experience the way the other greats like williams and chappelle can.

just like drake when he not on his AM/PM vibe ain’t really for me  but i recognize the purpose and what he’s trying to achieve with hold on we’re going home or summer games type record. aint really getting no spins from me but i get it. dom or currensy cant do that and drake cant really do what dom or currnesy does or has done without a machine.

Corny and for kids isn’t a bad thing. It’s absolutely “ok”. It might not be for you...but people love it. The dudes in Life, Friday and Harlem nights are the same dudes staring in Ride Along (with Kevin hart), Are we there yet and Dr Dolitle. All franchises. All in the exact same vein as Kev hart movies.

Martin Lawrence is one of our greatest contributors to the culture but is he a dub for Big Momma’s House and that terrible movie with Raven or daddy day care :lol

man everything got its purpose lol

the real impact of what Kev is doing is gonna be seen over these next 20 years when he picking the ****** that nobody else at that table would. Which is why I respect it beyond him having to eat and knowing his lane.

I can’t hate on it at all. From Paper Soldiers, Martin, Friday, Raw etc. To these. Look at the imagery. Look at the casts. Look at the success.

Chevy Chase and them can’t be the only one to eat in these lanes.

Also....daily reminder that Ice Cube is the GOAT. Forgot he had Barbershop too amongst MANY other films.

Even Kevin Hart's R rated movies are not funny  so y'all can't use that "he's for the family" excuse. He works hard and him and his team are GREAT at marketing him but son just don't make good movies. Let's not dance around it.
