Kanye West: King of the Sunken Place, "Watch the Throne"

"Idolizing" may be a bad choice of words. But as a pre-teen, young teenager, there were definitely famous white dudes in the 80's you thought were cool. Because they were on TV, played for your local sports team, name-dropped in a rappers song, or whatever. Suspend your logical adult mind and think as a child in the 80's (with none of the access to information that you have today).

I grew up and Philly, a stone's throw from Atlantic City (AC) where Trump started getting his casino's popping. Had grown-ups all the time bragging about going to "AC" to hang out in Trumps casino for the weekend. Who the heck is Trump I ask? Find out he's some rich white dude who owns a gang of hotels. Well if black folks are flocking to his properties he must be ok (again, child mind here).

Elvis was a hero to most
But he never meant s*** to me you see
Straight up racist that sucker was
Simple and plain
Mother f*** him and John Wayne
'Cause I'm Black and I'm proud
I'm ready and hyped plus I'm amped
Most of my heroes don't appear on no stamps

FOH with this 80's rich white man idol worship

I'm waiting for Kanye to say hes not Black next.

I was born in 86, I didn't grow up in the United States. I grew up in the Caribbean

My first exposure to him as a kid was a dude on TV crying about tax reform sending him bankrupt. He was a loser of American capitalism for me as a kid. He was not an entrepreneur either

Then he was a reality TV show host, then a bigot harassing Obama.

So I can't really relate to this argument personally. I mean I must admit I was cracking Trump joke when he was more innocuous, but he isn't anymore.

im sure democrats have a better plan for blacks than republicans but the point im making is why do we act like those are our only two choices to begin with

here's a easy choice, when you do stuff for ur own pocket book, family, etc and worry about your $$$ you tend to sit on da sidelines waiting for both those sides to cater to you.

Steven a Smith said as much too.

If Kim leaves Kanye, I think the dude will be a corpse in a matter of months, if not weeks. I'm certain the Kardashian family has kept his crazy *** in line and on meds because a quiet and "sane" Kanye is good for the bottom line. The moment they thik he's bad for the brand they'll walk. And who does he have to keep him balanced?

He either offs himself or we'll see him on the news getting arrested for walking into In-N-Out Burger naked screaming about how space aliens are trying to keep him from fulfilling his true genius.

Maybe not you but listen to some old hip-hop from the late 80's/90's name dropping Trump, referencing his riches, fame, so forth and so on.

bingo...Son was that dude plain and simple, i can tell who's around my age and older knew Donald was basically worshipped in da NYC tabloids.

i tried making folks understand this as soon as da election season started that ol boy had da sauce and his so gratuitously American as far as da flash and flamboyance that he was gonna capture people in a big way....

i tried to tell ya....

I have never been broke enough to support white supremacy through voting GOP. And I make good money now so I doubt I can ever get bought

If dudes willing to sell the morals out for a few extra hundred a year in tax cuts, they must be really desperate financially.

I mean I'm gonna have to pay for it in other ways too.

Kanye is gonna overdose on pills or shoot himself in the head like Kurt Cobain. Son is having a mental breakdown and crying for help.
